“Pros: The entire interior has been remodeled, so you might not realize every minute and second that it's a building constructed in 1900. The space is small but the decor is clean and charming. Cons: Inside Doyers St, a bar / club played music with heavy vibrations from early evening until 2 a.m., which shook this flimsy building and created unbearable noise. Starting at 7 a.m., a cafe on the first floor played music as well, and the vibrations carried upstairs. When winter came, rats also appeared. This may have been worse because I lived on the second floor. Throughout the entire lease period, I was unable to sleep properly due to constant noise which severely affected my health. After a year of this, I was actually half crazy - even though I had about three weeks left on the lease, I left immediately after graduating the school.”
— 19 PELL STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Clean, well-insulated, with a responsive landlord. Cons: Noisy area but that’s to be expected when you’re living downtown.”
— 19 PELL STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Very modern renovation with no expenses spared. Nice appliances, wide plank oak floors, lights with dimmers, custom tiled kitchens & baths. Access to unlimited great dining & watering holes. High speed internet included! Cons: Not exactly the closest to transportation. Also no dry cleaners nearby. Advice to landlord: Rooftop access would be a cherry on top”
