— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“It has been a wonderful year in this community. The events, the pop ups for venders like Honest Networks, which provides excellent WiFi service, the porters and staff in general has been amazing to experience. It was definitely worth the wait to receive my apartment. This has been the best adult decision I have made on my own. People like Omar, Miguel, Sheldon, and everyone has made this an experience to remember.”

However, Danny, Sheldon, Amil, Eddie, Miguel, Enver, Omar, Fernando, and the other maintenance guys are extremely friendly and supportive. It is always a pleasure to come home and hear "welcome home".”

— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Well managed, nice staff. No pest issues and mainly cleanly. Cons: It was very hot during the winter time with the boiler heat on, with no way to control it.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Liked it, it was too expensive though Cons: Heat bills were very high”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“This apartment building is really nice! If you want a quiet doorman building, this might be a good fit for you. The only issue is it's right next to Barclays Center so it can get a little busy outside on game/event days, but staff works to make sure the entrance is clear.”

— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: The management is responsive and overall building maintenance efforts are great. Cons: I hate the noise from proximity to Atlantic Ave and also due to crowds attending events at the Barclays Center”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“I absolutely have loved everything so far! The touring and move in were so easy, and the staff has been great. The apartment is so nice with everything I need and want. Amenities are excellent also! I love it here.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“I moved out of 461 Dean years ago, but resided in this building for a few years starting from when the building had just opened. I was there from the start so saw the change in management companies (from first service to Greystar), and staff. The first year or so was lovely.. when I moved out during COVID, prior to doing so, I submitted a 60 days notice to leave early in which management did not want to honor. Still I moved all of my large items out since I was moving states (also was eager to leave since bugs kept coming up through the counter crevices). During this time (keeping in mind that they would not honor my notice), I knew I had to go back to get the remaining items and clean the unit. What management didn't know (and it wasn't their business to because they should have never done what they did) is I still had my cameras connected (anyone with a dog like myself may be familiar with these cameras). On a random day while I was away and my lease wasn't yet up, a maintenance person called me with some BS stating that there was a leak upstairs and they had to enter into my unit because it was coming down lol, no call before entering, only after they had already done so. How do I know it was BS? Well not only did I confirm with the neighbors but on my camera (ill include the snap shots with the closed captions of their conversation) you can see the people who entered having a discussion (not about a leak) and not looking for the "leak". They entered my unit unauthorized and faked a story to do so instead of calling me and asking. On the day I returned to get my items and clean the unit, a person at the front desk said the leasing office disabled my key fobs (for a unit they were still charging me for!) so I had to be let in. Fast forward, when I had vacated there was a balance that has since been paid (shouldnt have been a balance for disabling my fobs but..)... and there was actually a court case opened asking for an inaccurate higher amount. Currently as I am in the process of moving a letter from this management company is needed to confirm that there is no balance. Before I am contacted to remove this review, please provide the necessary letter as again, THIS IS HOLDING UP MY MOVE in which no one seems to really care about until this review.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“I love the staff. From the front friendly staff to the Leasing management office staff, they are always accommodating, and ensuring residents are happy and safe. Love the residents events that create a sense of community. Also, love the bulletin board that allows residents to post.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 20C Pros: staff was very nice, helpful and kind, they answered maintenance calls very quickly. the views were great and the amenities were nice. Cons: the actual management company is not that helpful and does not want to negotiate to keep tenants.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Management company is incredibly responsive and will do everything possible to keep the tenants happy Cons: Amenities and finishes are outdated and poor quality for the price of rent”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Staff was always so friendly, packages are always organized, common areas are clean, view is amazing Cons: The location is right next to a fire station so there are constant sirens”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“I was struggling moving my mattress by myself until the maintenance staff saw me and helped me carry the mattress. He helped me carry it and advice me with some tips. He was super helpful and kindhearted!”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Location and accessibility to so many train lines Clean and well maintained common spaces and building Friendly staff Cons: Renewal rate was crazy, I know it’s not exclusive to this building They charge you $50 every time you forget your keys and need to access your door (first time is free) Advice to landlord: Front desk staff is always so friendly”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Clean, great location, nice and trustworthy staff, quiet neighbors, good price/space for one person. Efficient resident portal Cons: The gym could be more fleshed out and Flatbush is so noisy, but the latter isn't really the apts fault. Could use more events that give out free stuff. Advice to landlord: None! Fantastic service”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“I enjoy living at 461 Dean St. I'm surrounded by great food, entertainment, parks and transportation. The concierge are all polite and very helpful. Management is prompt with their response to any inquiries I have. I always feel welcomed when I come home. The resident manager is always present and approachable.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Professional staff and management team. Building/ community is maintained and well groomed. Neighbors are welcoming and friendly. Pet friendly community. I truly enjoy living at 461 Dean street. Short commute to many train lines and bus routes.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Great management and people. No noise. Building is very well kept. Cons: Could have better amenities. Gym is subpar. Advice to landlord: Get better amenities.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“The two complaints I raised with management were taken seriously. The first was marijuana use in the hallways and elevator in violation of strict no smoking policy. I was very impressed by how quickly the issue was resolved. My other complaint which is confidential is still pending but I am confident it will be resolved shortly.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Great no issues I like the convince of having everything I need a walk away it's just everything is near and don't have to go to far to get it plus living next door Barclay's center is Amazing that's why I moved here in the first place”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Convenient location, washer/dryer in unit Cons: Cheap appliances (including heat/AC), high rent”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Staff is helpful and friendly. Building is clean and in a good location. Repairs are usually done quickly. Was a great building when I first moved it. Cons: Upon lease renewal, they raised the rent 60%!! Despite being an excellent tenant, they would not negotiate. Raising someone’s rent by $1500 during a pandemic is unconscionable. As a result, several tenants were forced to move. Management could stand to be more professional and more timely in their responses. It seems somewhat disorganized. Hot water has been an issue for months, with a temporary boiler outside the building and hot water after being turned off with no notice once a week. With the reopening of Barclays, the noise and traffic are at an all time high. Lots of staff turnover in the last few months. Elevator lights out.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Prime location- close to subways and restaurants, great views from higher floors, amenities, clean and quiet building, and friendly and responsive staff. Cons: Rent is overpriced, and management can be rude. The windows are poorly made, so much cold air enters the unit in the winter and heat in the summer. The heat/AC doesn’t heat or cool the unit well and the electric bill triples when turned on. The windows also do not block out sound, and it gets very nosy. The kitchen cabinets can’t store much or let alone hold heavy items such as small cans of beans, they are poorly made. The fridge is small and the shelves are not sturdy. The floors dip and are poorly made, you can smell when someone is smoking and cooking. The building is pet friendly, dogs have urinated in the elevators and in front of the building which leaves behind a strong urine odor. Dogs are running around without a leash in shared spaces including the lobby. The doors in the lobby do not lock, and the concierge can be found sleeping which is a safety concern. The amenities close early fob stops working at 10 pm, but amenities close at 11 pm. Packages get mixed up Not enough closet space and the closets are not sturdy. Last-minute notice of any closures/shutdowns Unit washer- uses steaming hot water that damages clothes. Parking ASP is once a week but can be difficult to find a spot. Advice to landlord: Amenities- longer hours possibly midnight closer or 24 hours access. Have an opt-in cost option for preferred amenities instead of flat-fee.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Great location near a transportation hub, Target, grocery stores, vets, pet groomers, and cute neighborhoods, parks. Very responsive management. Only real downside is that the neighborhood can get pretty loud because the building is on busy Flatbush and next to the Barclays Center.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Amenities, location, space Cons: Price is a bit much for what you can get elsewhere”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 19H Pros: Sound proofing of the apartment is awesome! The views of Manhattan. Some of the staff is excellent. Cons: The lights in one of the elevators were not functional for months. There were dim temporary lights. This finally got fixed. The hot water goes out on average once per month. No warning.. I usually find out when I'm about to take a shower. There has been a temporary boiler parked out front for months. When the hot water does work, it is scalding hot. Management stopped wearing masks long before the rules changed in NY. People who live here are disgusting. They leave trash (not actually in bags) in the trash rooms, (there is a trash chute-super confused by this) when they actually used the chute, they don't close it... Weed dealers trying to sell products in the elevators. Advice to landlord: If this continues, we are moving asap. It is awful to pay premium rent for this nonsense.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“We are new to Brooklyn from the west coast. This location is perfect for us to get acquainted with several neighborhoods, many shops and restaurants and to access both downtown Brooklyn and Manhattan. The view from our apartment, overlooking 5th Ave in Park Slope and Flatbush Ave all the way up to Prospect Park is helping us become even more oriented to our new home. Access to the MTA, both subways and buses, at the Barclay Center is amazing. We can literally get anywhere from here.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“The staff at 461 Dean are wonderful. All of the front desk, leasing office, and maintenance folks that we've interacted with have gone out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The amenities are also top notch. And the location can't be beat! It's close to so many subway lines, Prospect Park, 5th Ave and Vanderbilt... we couldn't be happier here!”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 5C Pros: Responsive and friendly staff Great, convenient location No pest problems at all Cons: The noise from the crowds going in and out of the Barclays Center can be a lot. Advice to landlord: None at this time.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Amazing responsive staff, nice people, clean building, well connected with subway. Cons: Ambulance and firefighters noise is constant, even at a high floor. Units facing south get too hot”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: The staff and the quiet units. Washer and dryers in every unit! Cons: Haven't found anything yet! Advice to landlord: Keep this up. Make sure you continue to treat your staff well. They are amazing.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: The building is always clean and the maintenance people are always quick and attentive. The units are well built - I can never hear my neighbors and the appliances are decent quality. The floor to ceiling windows ensure that every unit has a great view. Also super close to trains and shopping nearby. Cons: None at the moment. I’d like to stay here long term, so hopefully the lease renewals don’t include major price hikes. Advice to landlord: Keep being attentive to tenants and valuing their feedback.”
— 461 DEAN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Location, quality of apartment finishes, views Cons: Small fridge - nothing else! Advice to landlord: None - keep up the great work!”
