“Pros: This building was relatively clean, conveniently located, and we enjoyed living here. Cons: We had a lot of maintenance issues while living there and management did not deal with them in a timely manner, or kindly. We also had packages stolen constantly and were told it was our problem to deal with. Every single appliance in our apartment broke at one point or required maintenance, and I felt that getting the issues dealt with properly was very difficult. Advice to landlord: Handle things in a timely and efficient manner”
— 205 AVENUE A · Manhattan“Pros: beautiful roof access, no problematic neighbors, lots of natural light Cons: Central AC not effective in summer”
— 244 10 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Close to subway and east village spots. Cons: Walk up sucks”
— 205 AVENUE A · Manhattan“Pros: - Building is renovated relatively recently, good appliances, seemingly well built, and very clean. I don’t think I saw a single bug in our apartment, ever. - True 3 bed layout with 3 equal size rooms, and good sized living room Cons: - The in unit washer and dryer sometimes take multiple cycles to fully dry clothes”
— 205 AVENUE A · Manhattan“Pros: Great location, good amenities, nice sized living room Cons: Stairs can get gross, bedrooms are small, light bulbs need to be changed constantly”
— 205 AVENUE A · Manhattan“Pros: Clean and well maintained common areas. No pest problem even in lower units Cons: The area is not safe. Landlord is very aggressive in communications and not always responsive. Walls/ceilings are paper thin and you can hear quite literally everything that goes on in this building - neighbors are inconsiderate and stomp around quite literally until 5 in the morning and blast music. INSANELY expensive for what you're getting. Advice to landlord: be nicer to your tenants and have a realistic view of what you're offering”
— 244 10 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Always clean, quick to respond to issues, generally solid structure in the apartment. Cons: Heat was an issue for us every year for a few weeks. But the building always tried to work on it. Advice to landlord: Figure out if anything can be done for the heat.”
— 205 AVENUE A · Manhattan“Unit 5E Pros: - Quiet neighbors/neighborhood - Art galleries right across the street - Responsive management and super - Nice natural lighting in bedrooms - Big private roof Cons: - Expensive for the square footage - Main living area gets very little natural light - One bedroom had no closet Advice to landlord: I think they’ve done a great job with the property. I would recommend finding a better system for sorting mail and packages though - they just kind of get dumped in a pile on the ground floor and I worry they’ll get stolen”
