“Unit 2E Pros: Rooftop access, friendly neighbors, not much partying or noises Cons: The apartment itself is very small for a 2 bed but what isn’t in New York City Advice to landlord: Please enforce the no smoking policy”
— 420 LEXINGTON AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 7C Pros: Nice location in prime Bedstuy, gym in the basement is nice to have in winter, apartments have a lot of light. Cons: On moving day, I arrived to a top floor apartment with a hole in the ceiling that had not been there when I viewed the place three weeks earlier. Construction was left unfinished and I lived for 6 fall/winter months with leaking ceiling in the kitchen and living room. Constant insect infestations from day 1 (even in fall and winter). The oven never worked and temperature markings had rubbed off but not allowed to replace. HVAC units full of a black powder that went all over the walls, I had to pressure for a mold check and cleaning. Shared spaces like the lounge are a joke, usually trashed and stained with no internet. Thin walls with neighbors, could even hear in the bedroom when the toilet flushes next door. Neighbors with adjacent balcony partied and used heavy drugs all hours of the day, building did nothing despite repeated complaints and admissions that they know all about the situation. To top it off, when I moved out I was charged hundreds of dollars for “significant damage” from a few picture hook holes in the bedroom. They still moved the new tenants in the very next day. Maybe the building was nice when first opened but it’s poorly maintained and no amount of perfumed air spray in the lobby can mask that. Building management is a joke. Advice to landlord: Stop taking short cuts to structural problems with your building”
— 420 LEXINGTON AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 3E Pros: Cleanliness Mail room option- I never had to worry about theft Rooftop for use by everyone Cons: No elevator Requests for fixing stuff can take days”
— 420 LEXINGTON AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 4C Pros: key fob entry, thats about it Cons: washing drying machines frequently broken, mail gets stolen, rotting vanity/furniture never replaced, security deposits never returned, phone calls and emails never answered, noisy neighborhood, vandalism is rampant, seriously just dont bother here. Advice to landlord: give up lol”
— 420 LEXINGTON AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 4C Pros: 410 Lexington Ave are rent stabilized apartments Cons: Management rarely responded to our maintenance requests. They promised our main door and sink cabinet to be replaced - they never did it after 1.5 years. We spent the first months of our lease with a door that couldn't be locked or opened from outside. We spent 5 months without a lease because they never wrote back after asking for a pet rider. I don't think they care about 410 Lexington because we are rent stabilized so they can't get all of our money. Apparently 420 (not stabilized apartments) have no problems at all. Terrible. Would not recommend for a second. Update: They stole our security deposit even though we cleaned and repaired all the walls before moving out. Our neighbors also got their security deposit stolen. Landlords are scum, and these are one of the worst. Advice to landlord: Treat all your tenants with the same respect and attention you do to 420 residents. Stop discriminating and provide the services we pay you for.”
— 420 LEXINGTON AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Super clean, well maintained, responsive super, Cons: No central heat, the in unit heaters are super expensive to run”
— 420 LEXINGTON AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Well maintained building with wonderful maintenance staff! Super friendly and attentive. Cons: “Fake, new” building with thing walls. Appears nice up front but begins to deteriorate after two years.”
— 420 LEXINGTON AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: I’ve been living here for almost 2 years and I still love the apartment. It’s very clean and always smells good Cons: Sometimes when you submit a maintenance request they respond slow and take awhile to fix the issue.”
— 420 LEXINGTON AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: I like the amenities, gym, rooftop, lounge and cleanliness of the building most day. I also like my home. Cons: Bedrooms are very small. Poor lighting in the apartments (aside from natural lighting) there is no lights in the bedroom, we had to buy lamps. And the lighting within the units are quite dim. No real overhead lights, accept in entry. Advice to landlord: Find a way to connect 410 Lexington with 420 Lexington. Paint the apartments over. Lower the rents…too expense for 2nd rate apartments.”
— 420 LEXINGTON AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: New spacious apartments Cons: Appliances not the strongest Advice to landlord: Build in better appliances like stove tops and dish washer.”
— 420 LEXINGTON AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: It has a gym in the basement Cons: Smelled like smoke all the time, residents trashed the rooftop periodically, management didn’t respond to water leaking from my ceiling onto my bed as chunks of plaster fell down...after three urgent calls on three separate occasions. Advice to landlord: Hire a property manager who gives a shit.”
