THE KENT CONDOMINIUM · avg 4.7 ★★★★★ · New York City
“Pros: The neighbors are awesome and the doormen are wonderful Cons: Electricity costs are high year round. Maybe bc of insulation issues.”
— 970 KENT AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: The doormen are wonderful. The maintenance men are even better. It’s close to the FDR drive. The neighbors, other tenants, are friendly. Cons: Too expensive for what you get. There are toxic smells pretty regularly in the lobby and in the hallways. The unresponsiveness to phone calls and emails about the horrible, toxic fumes is surprising given the exorbitant rent cost. The building is run by a third-party, not by the owner! Advice to landlord: Use non-toxic carpet cleaning products in the future. Polish the brass on a weekend in the summer only once a year so the fewest amount of people will be affected. Take a real interest in the beautiful building. Stop farming out the management. Have someone answer the phone when it rings in the owner’s office who will actually care about tenants.”
— 1681 3 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Mostly friendly and helpful staff; management responsive and good about getting fixes done quickly (e.g. elevator) Cons: Scaffolding in front of building has been there for years; seemingly zero priority on getting the work done and the scaffolding removed”
