“Unit 8 Pros: Great location to be Cons: The landlord and the broker are basically the same person so don’t let them charge you a broker fee. They tried to take my full security deposit and I had to ask for an itemized receipt before they sent the whole thing back. Will try to get as much money out of you as they can”

“Unit 2 Pros: Location is great. Cons: Terrible Building Management. Impossible to get anything fixed. Extorts illegal rent renewal fee. Infested with cockroaches and rats. Apollo Bagels patrons loiter and sit on entrance. Cold in winter. Advice to landlord: Hire a real property manager not your daughter.”

“Unit 7 Pros: Great location, great pricing. If you go to NYU super close to campus. Close to all subways (R/W, L, 6, F/A/C). Cheap utilities. Cons: Small units. Landlord not great, fight to get what you need/want. We had a little bit of a cockroach problem (but who doesn’t). They were good about having monthly pest control you could sign up for. Trash was horrendous. It was outside and rats everywhere Advice to landlord: Better responsiveness. Units should be listed at a lower price with how small they are.”

“Unit 21 Pros: Great location in the East Village. Walking distance to First Ave L Train, Astor Place, and Union Square. Excellent restaurants in the area. Trader Joe’s, Target, Whole Foods, and Wegmans are close by. Apartment is above Apollo bagels, which is busy in the mornings but generally a quiet tenant. Cons: Close vicinity to First Ave means traffic noises including emergency vehicle sirens. Management not typically quick to respond to maintenance requests. I always get a “rent past due” notice despite paying my rent on time every month.”

“Pros: Pretty quiet except the bar located under the building Cons: There is absolutely no hot water, the management does not respond to emails/ complaints, there is no living space, the building is gross and has cockroaches. Advice to landlord: Bulldoze this and find a new occupation.”
