“Unit 5D Pros: Love the neighbors and neighborhood! Cons: Mold in the building and apartments. Their response is to just paint over it. Have had many health issues because of it. Also intercom is broken and building is barely cleaned. Advice to landlord: Actually fix the issues with the building”

“Unit 4A Pros: Rent was cheap (signed a lease right after Covid, though), nice neighbors, responsive and kind live-in super, love the neighborhood Cons: The building was kinda dirty, but didn’t have any major issues til the last few months of our lease. After a bad storm, mice came up into our apartment (4th floor). I was able to patch up holes and get rid of them on my own, but management wasn’t any help. Packages were stolen sometimes. Also when we used our tub once, the ceiling in the unit below us fell in. Also the lock on our door kept breaking so we got locked out and one time locked in our apartment, but the super fixed it pretty quickly every time it broke.”

“Pros: Neighbors are friendly overall and look out for each other. Great location in an amazing neighborhood. Leo, the man who was the super for many years was kind and attentive. Cons: New supers have tough standard to live up to, filling Leo's shoes. The quality of life in the. building and general maintenance of the building since the pandemic began has gone down. It's down to the management not building bonds or listening to tenants' feedback. Advice to landlord: Tend to building maintenance proactively, Offer a feedback option for tenants' and reconsider the rent increase rates you implement.”

“Pros: Short walking distance to subway and groceries, laundry right across the street. Management is generally quick to respond. Cons: Common areas are extremely dirty, garbage isn’t managed well. Requests to fix existing damages, leaking sinks etc were responded to promptly, however the person sent in to fix these things cut corners and basically just put a bandaid on things instead of fixing it properly/replacing items.”

★★★★★Sep 2020

“Pros: Super quiet area, great roof access, really sweet and gentle super, virtually zero pests, relatively affordable rent Cons: Old building with sketchy plumbing, major mold problem that management doesn’t seem to care about, management is difficult to communicate with and does not follow up on calls/emails unless pressed, management avoids necessary maintenance work (like serious mold issue) unless legal action is threatened. Advice to landlord: You’ve got a great building in a great neighborhood! Communicate better with your tenants and be more up-front about your decisions and protocols. If we felt like you were on our side and cared about our wellbeing we may want to stay in the building long term! At this point we feel we can’t trust you because you’re hard to reach and your policies are confusing.”
