“Pros: So big. 4 huge bedrooms by New York standards. 2 full bathrooms. Big windows. The owner was very kind. A large backyard. It was amazing… Cons: …if it weren’t for all of the rats. We had rats dying in our ceiling regularly. Once had a mouse in the house! An exterminator said Bushwick is relatively rat free and then there is our apartment. Advice to landlord: No rats”
— 910 WILLOUGHBY AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Nice quite neighborhood Cons: Ceiling Leaks, roaches, mice and rats infestation. Low to no maintenance, structurally it is a very weak building. Exp: it's coming apart while shaking and it shows. There is no installation in the entire building. There are holes in common areas of building and top apartment. Stinking floor in kitchen area leaking floor from top apartment to 1st floor apartment. Walls show signs of bending, cracks, ripple lines. Stairs are weak and the foundation is totalled. Was a previously condemned building. Electronical is very faulty old and outdated cross wiring is very possible. Lights go on and off long with electrical outlets. Electrical surges happen often. Advice to landlord: Fix your building asap because if something happens while we are here I'm bringing NYC down and that includes you period you should be ashamed to have me and my 5 children living in these poor conditions with no stove and a leaking broken refrigerator. Even though you purchase this building from a proven fraud landlord🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️. I have seen little to no improvement. The fact that I told you while crying in destress via phone that my family and I had found out that we was living with a slow gas leaking stove for 2 years and yet the stove still remains in my apartment show how much you truly dont care. You just wants us black people gone out of a building were we lived and still reside before you came about. It is a Bottomline hazard to live in these conditions. And I've been trying to move in this gentrified city that like you dont like people like us but want our neighborhoods business money etc. Fix it now because if we get hurt or one of my 5 children get bitten one more time in this building NYC and you ain't gonna like me for a very long time.”
