“Pros: The apartment I lived in was freshly renovated- you could tell talking to neighbors that each one was in a different state, so ours seemed the most updated. You can't beat the location and access to transit and the park. Cons: Not much communication with ownership, has a couple weird experiences with a tenant which I suppose is normal for NYC. I never minded, but the school across the street does get loud during recess if you're home during the day.”
— 231 CLERMONT AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Beautiful old brownstone and lovely neighbors. Stairwell is mopped every Friday and trash is taken out on time. Cons: Worst landlords I’ve ever had. Not responsive - sometimes I have to ask a question 3 or 4 times in email to get a response. My apartment was filthy when I moved in (grime on the bathroom floor, hair in the drain, huge dust chunks behind the radiators, grease covering the stove vent, dirty fridge…). It CLEARLY had not been cleaned since the last tenant moved out, and when I complained, sent photos, and asked if they could send someone they claimed someone had already been there “twice” and did absolutely nothing. When I have an issue sometimes workers will show up knocking on my door unannounced without them letting me know ahead of time. Heron in particular is rude and clearly noncaring. If you don’t have any issues it’s ok, but I don’t trust them to do things properly when you do. Advice to landlord: Get a new management company”
— 41 7 AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: The building is relatively clean and the apartment was nice Cons: Management does not respond. Have to email 3-4 time and call before I get a response Advice to landlord: Please check your emails”
— 231 CLERMONT AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Neighbors are nice, rent stabilized tenants have been here awhile. Heat is generally reliable. Cons: The management is terrible. Nothing is done in a timely manner, and they'll do the absolute bare minimum every time.”
— 33 SOUTH ELLIOTT PLACE · Brooklyn“Pros: Great neighborhood, close to the park, close to the Q, great neighbors in the building Cons: Some cockroaches in the hallway (nothing in the apartment so far)”
