“Pros: Not much to say here… I guess the size is okay and it’s close to the subway. That’s about it. Cons: No response from management about anything. They don’t do repairs and they don’t maintain the property AT ALL. Neighbors throw parties and make a mess without cleaning up. Lots of bugs. Advice to landlord: Respond to your tenants”
— 507 WEST 171 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 62 Pros: I like how close it is to the A, C, and 1 trains. I also appreciate that it’s close to Broadway with lots of shops but not quite in the thick of it. The building is nothing special but there are some good units. The view from the roof is lovely. You can see Al the way to midtown Cons: They can be slow for maintenance because the landlord is in Jersey a lot. Some problems with package theft but for the most part not too bad. Advice to landlord: a new call box system would be great”
— 515 WEST 171 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: It’s managed daily Cons: Missing packages Dirty halls Takes forever to fix issues Advice to landlord: Respond in a timely fashion”
— 515 WEST 171 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: My neighbors were nice? Cons: The whole building is INFESTED with cockroaches. Not the small ones either. I’m talking MASSIVE cockroaches. I lived there for 2 years thinking I could just get some bug spray and over look it. Ya’ll I called 311 on multiple occasions. I asked for help with the situation and really didn’t get any better. It was not uncommon AT ALL to open my mailbox to multiple dead (but sometimes live) cockroaches. One time I even opened my mailbox to a dead mouse. For the duration of my rental history with this building, the property owners were unresponsive to the point of being borderline negligent. Advice to landlord: Get out of the business of property management. You’re clearly just in it for the money and the wonderful people in that building deserve better.”
