RC CH ST MARYS IMM CO · avg 3.8 ★★★★★ · New York City
“Pros: In the three years I’ve lived there I’ve only had one package stolen and it was caught on camera, there are Bluetooth speakers in every room, there is a lot of space in the kitchen, hardwood floors are nice, for ground/basement floor the natural lighting isn’t too bad, laundry room and garbage is right outside the door down the hallway and it’s always clean and well managed. Cons: Mosquitos in the summertime, I never open the windows because I am afraid but they still somehow get in. I have so many mosquito traps and keep my bedroom ice cold and door closed to prevent them from going in there but if you don’t get a dehumidifier, bug traps and keep the AC on it is a big problem. Once a year, during a terrible storm, the drainage from the laundry room has overflowed and flooded the entire first floor hallway and entry level and seeps through the doors of our apartment and floods the entire area. There is also black mold in the caulking of the bathtub, and in the bathroom walls on the bottom. Management is good with helping to get it cleared out but it does freak me out a bit and they have not resolved the bathroom yet. Advice to landlord: Take our black mold and pest requests seriously and help with longer term solutions rather than putting a bandaid on these issues.”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Never had a pest problem in the actual unit Cons: Green neon lights in restroom and you can't change the color so it's pretty dark, not good lighting. Apparently there's raccoons in the garden at night so keep your pet safe.”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 3e Pros: the location is really good. Cons: super thin walls and terrible insulation. i had the highest electric bills i’ve ever had in nyc and the apartment was constantly freezing.”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Management is responsive, clean, quiet (for the most part) Cons: Laundry room can have issues but resolving it is relatively quick. Can take awhile for the super to fix something but they are responsive and nice. Substantial rent increases post covid”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: - Laundry in building - Gym in building - courtyard and rooftop - virtual doorman - central AC/ Controllable heat/ac Cons: - little to no insulation (gets super cold in winter, super warm/muggy in summer) and you have to jack up your AC/Heat which = super high utilities bills - management is super slow to resolve things (like the heat/ac issues) - lack of insulated windows means you can hear things very clearly from the outside Advice to landlord: fix insulation problems!”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Unit Apt 1e Pros: The gym, the rooftop access, the kitchen except for a few things. The trash service. Laundry in building, newish bathroom. Cons: No bathroom fan, not fan/vent for kitchen stove. No garbage disposal. Heat doesn’t work great and has to be turned on and off manually and does not have auto. Not much daylight in living room. Layout is awkward with large diagonal pillars taking up valuable space. The smaller room in 2 bed 1 bath only has room for full bed, dresser and clothing rack with about 1-2 ft of space on each side. which is very small for $2,100 in rent per person. Advice to landlord: Give a floor plan to prospective clients who live out of state and can’t tour. Also use a new phone on the tour guide so people can have the apartment size better. The broker lied about the space in the rooms.”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Location and courtyard/rooftop Cons: Small spaces and poor gym equipment”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Unit GE Pros: Susana the cleaning woman is fantastic. Cons: Black mold all over the building, management ignores every ticket and paints over the mold once every couple of weeks. Multiple city violations, which lead to a sprinkler pipe burst and the floors being flooded multiple times. Windows are broken, mini fridge, AC wall units don’t work. Advice to landlord: You are crooks.”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 2D Pros: Never seen a roach or pest Management is responsive if there is an issue Laundry and dishwasher are a plus Work out room is nice Never had an issue with neighbors. Block is generally quiet Cons: Packages are stolen often despite a code on the building Our rent was raised $1000 after one year The kitchen is very small No elevator Honestly just very expensive, I would stay longer if I could afford it Advice to landlord: Lower rent 😭😂”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Nice units, good neighbors Cons: Management office difficult to work with”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 3G Pros: Clean building, great neighbors, great outdoor space and gym, lounge area and rooftops! Laundry in the building. Cons: It was a new construction and shoddy build - we had water damage that was never rectified, we had issues with the apartment that management was totally unresponsive to - and they attempted to withhold our entire security deposit while in violation of NYC law until we threatened them with legal action Advice to landlord: Be more responsive to tenants and do not withhold security deposits without inspection.”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Central location Courtyard Cons: - Walls are paper thin, you can hear your neighbors super easy. One particular neighbor likes to party all the time into the early hours of the morning. Doesn’t really seem to care at all about the people around them. - washing machines always broken - landlord is not responsive at all, you are left to fend for yourself, emails will go unanswered - you’ll notice a high turnover of people here, no one stays long Advice to landlord: Be more attentive to tenants, take complaints or problems seriously, and for neighbors, be kind/mindful of the people around you”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Gym + court yard Cons: Fairly cheaply made, easily hear upstairs and downstairs neighbors”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: The building is nice and new, great setup and it has a great courtyard. Cons: They don't respond to any requests. They couldn't help me when I got locked out, they won't fix minor damages, and the water stain on our ceiling has been growing over the past year until it's created holes and started leaking. Advice to landlord: Respond to your tenants”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: The apartment is super clean - I’ve never seen a bug or mouse in the building. The gym is great and courtyard as well. So is the lounge. Cons: We have had some issues getting things fixed in the apartment. The super is extremely responsive and helpful but management is not. The emergency line is an answering service that never results in any action and we have had a long-term non emergency issue in our apartment that, despite over a dozen emails to management, has never been fixed. Laundry is expensive! Its also extremely overpriced for what it is. The walls are paper thin so if you live with roommates, beware of that. Advice to landlord: Be more responsive.”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Amenities - Gym, laundry, courtyard, bike garage Tenets are nice Every room has its own A/C and heating unit Well maintained building All apartments have a balcony Cons: Exterior walkways are always trashed Packages get stolen - management hasn't offered any solution to help with the problem Advice to landlord: Management is responsive, however getting something fixed takes a lot of back-and-forth.”
— 74 MAUJER STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Has an elevator and a gym. Can pay rent online. Cons: My neighbors are terrible (floor 3) so loud there’s a DJ who parties all the time. The walls are so ridiculously thin. In the living room you can hear full on conversations of people from across the hall. The washers and dryers are always broken. The mail room is constantly full of packages so it’s hard to find anything at all. The elevator was broken for several weeks and the alarm has been broken twice and would go off for months at one point. The front doors are now broken and if you ring someone in it takes about 30 seconds for it to actually open so people often mistake it and try and open the other door and then miss the right door window. Management is unresponsive and unhelpful. The other building with the gym gets flooded when it rains. The smoke alarms have been needing batteries in there for months and will beep all the time. Will not be renewing my lease. Wouldn’t live here again if you paid me. Advice to landlord: Be more responsive.”
