“Pros: Laundry in the basement, easy access to the 1 and a little bit of a walk to the A, spacious apartment that was nicely renovated Cons: Loud neighborhood, halls weren’t the cleanest, not many washing machines or dryers, they would “lose” rent checks all the time”
— 113 POST AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: it’s pretty clean building Cons: neighbors are very loud. no elevator and if you like to party this building is for you”
— 113 POST AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: The building itself is in good shape and the neighbors are either friendly or just keep to themselves. Garbage is taken out to the street in an organized fashion. Cons: It is incredibly loud. Some neighbors play very loud music until 4am, often with a lot of alcohol involved. That combined with a ton of drag racing/modified mufflers and street drinking makes it very noisy. Invest in ear plugs if you move here. The worst thing about this building is it’s unfortunately located next door to city SRO Housing. The people living here are often walking around in front of the building high on drugs. My apartment backed up to the SRO housing and there was a man who would scream about satan, etc. Unfortunately there isn’t much the cops can do because there isn’t anywhere else to put these people. If you have children I would stay away or be incredibly protective. Advice to landlord: Find a way to create a barrier between your building and the SRO housing next door. The noise is one of the main reasons I moved out.”
