PFSS 180 NASSAU LLC · avg 3.2 ★★★★★ · New York City
“Pros: - Great neighbors - Great building staff - Super is responsive - Beautiful rooftop Cons: This is not an old building, but construction was completed cheaply and it shows. Lots of water damage in the building, rooftop has an old pool covered by turf that is not safely attached, things break in the apartment all the time. The super is amazing and responds quickly, but if something requires a large repair management doesn't spring to handle that well and cheaply band-aids repairs. Advice to landlord: Take care of this building, could be so much nicer if large projects were approved to handle properly.”

— 180 NASSAU STREET · Brooklyn“We have fallen in love with this building. We have lived in Manhattan for a long time but the amenities and the staff at 180 are amazing. When we moved here Soni the super was very friendly, showed us around all the amenities and even helped us with our furniture. Some small issues in the apartment needed to be fixed and he fixed them during the weekend when he was off for us because we were going to move Monday. He is very helpful, professional and friendly as well. The staff of the building are all nice guys and very helpful too and keep the building in great shape. We are very lucky to live in such a nice building surrounded by such great staff and amazing super.”
— 180 NASSAU STREET · Brooklyn“We loved this building and its staff. Too bad we had to leave town because of work and got our deposit back on time. We made sure the apt was left in good condition and no issues whatsoever on security deposit . Great super and helpful. 24 hr doorman making sure the building is safe and secure. If we come back to NYC we would love to come back at 180!”
— 180 NASSAU STREET · Brooklyn“The Apartment Building and the amenities are fantastic. The staff is friendly and you are close to a lot of bars and restaurants. However, as you can read in all the other reviews, Pinkstone management is the terrible to deal with. They are not responding to anything and after moving out four month ago I still have to fight to get my security deposit back without any reason. They are not reacting to mails, voice messages or anything else. Worst company ever!”
— 180 NASSAU STREET · Brooklyn“DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! Brooklyn Warehouse 180 is a TERRIBLE management company. They're unethical and, when it's pointed out that their behavior is unlawful, their go-to response is 'sue me.' I have NEVER dealt with a landlord so terrible, mean, and unethical in the two decades I've lived in New York. They're refusing to allow me to sublet for no reason at all (unlawful in NY), they're preemptively saying they're withholding my security deposit to paint the walls (also unlawful in NY), they've been impossible to work with generally. What's unfortunate about all of that is that the doormen and general staff at the building are great - it's the management company and everyone that works for them that are terrible!”
— 180 NASSAU STREET · Brooklyn“Apartment is fine, but pinkston (MGMT company sucks). DO NOT RENT HERE. They are slow to respond and took legal threats to get deposit back. Neighborhood sucks as well. There was a shooting half a block away and its in the middle of nowhere Avoid at all costs - you don't want to deal with the headaches. Over 10 tenants had same issue”
— 180 NASSAU STREET · Brooklyn“(Pinkstone manages 180 Nassau St, Brooklyn) SAFETY: Pinkstone is supposed to make sure their tenants are safe: someone trespassed and assaulted me in my own apartment (I have video evidence of this). I called the doorman to call the cops, but they they called the superintendent instead. I had to call again and insist for them to call the cops. Separately, when we had moved out our things but were still renting our unit, the super came into the apartment without notice, left trash, and even left the door unlocked even though we still had some personal belongings in it. These events were all in violation of our lease. Pinkstone is also supposed to ensure the safety of our personal information. The building manager carelessly revealed everyone's email address instead of using bcc And finally, right outside of the building we had a shooting. Welcome to 180 Nassau St. MOVE-IN: Our rented unit was not cleaned on our move-in day. Dirt and dust was everywhere. We had to clean it ourselves. No compensation from the management. Before we signed the lease, and considering the windows do not open fully, we asked if the management would clean them. They promised to clean the windows twice a year. Over two years, they cleaned them once. Other tenants received the same verbal promise. AMENITIES: We were supposed to be able to use the rooftop and library/lounge for events free or charge. They changed this after we moved in by requiring an hourly fee. We were supposed to have a daily shuttle to go to the subway stations. Over two years from 2014-2016, it's been out of service almost ? of the time. The internet in the gym was cut off and we had to send multiple emails to get it back. While they love to charge fees for late payments, they don't pay their own bills on time and we received a notice from ConEd that our electric service would be shut off because of a missing payment from the property manager. Also, Pinkstone has not complied with the Prevailing Wage Law and Worker - check with SEIU Local 32BJ for more details. ¬ DEPOSIT: Pinkstone is legally bound by law to return tenant's deposit within 60 days after move-out.. After multiple emails and phone calls, when some tenants didn't hear back from the management (Erseida Mhilli, Gil Maman), they started a conversation with former tenants to see if the issue was broader. It turns out at least 20 former tenants had not received their deposit back - some for as long as 6 months. For some of those who did get it back, the amount made no sense (thousands of dollars were gone without explanation). It was only after threatening collective action that the management returned our deposits - but it was still missing the accrued interest, which was required under the lease. So Pinkstone kept it (which is illegal). Advice: unless you're really desperate, stay away.”
