“Unit 1M Pros: The person who clean and take care the building is hard working. Cons: There is lot of pest problem Old building No laundry Advice to landlord: Renovate the room”
— 530 PARKSIDE AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit #5A Pros: Maurice the Live-In super/handyman/garbage-handler/cleaner who TIRELESSLY took care of the building's hallways and garbage Cons: The AWFUL tenants who left their garbage everywhere outside the garbage chute/garbage room everywhere overflowing for this old man to clean up. People are foul. I didn't even use the garbage chute, I took my garbage downstairs. If I used the chute, maybe 5 times in the two years I lived there, I put my garbage IN the chute, these selfish pigs left their smelly runny garbage everywhere and that attracts ROACHES. The building had a pretty pervasive roach issue but the WORST nightmare came with the BEDBUGS that infested my apartment after my next door neighbors moved out. I had gotten rid of roaches, they came back as well. The building does offer exterminating services bi-weekly but it is very superficial and they use poisons that cannot be used if you have pets (I had a kitten back then). I had to sleep with lights and sweatpants on not be eaten alive and after two nights ordered a pet-friendly service that I paid for out-of-pocket, in order to finally get a wink of sleep. And they REFUSED to take the exterminating costs off my rent!! Criminal greedy owners/management co. I left without paying 2 last months' rent, are you kidding? They sent some letter demanding unpaid rent (which I got because I have mail forwarding, I didn't tell them my forwarding address) - GOOD LUCK trying to get that $ from me. Advice to landlord: Please pay Maurice GOLD / 5 times than you think he's worth because he is worth 5 times more than you ever will know. Please, please fix the building's fundamental issues with pests instead of just spraying poison. The roaches come from the elevator shafts or wherever there is moisture in these old buildings. Please reign in the unruly shit tenants treating Maurice like he's their personal servant. And PLEASE have an emergency contact/number for a FREE of charge bedbug exterminator that comes within 48 hours and offers pet-friendly services (we only had to vacate the apartment for 4 hours with my cat), no questions asked. Including paying for the laundry that is required related to a bedbug infestation.”

— 530 PARKSIDE AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Apartment is renovated and very nice, has elevator, close to train and prospect park. Close to an amazing grocery store that has a fish market. Very nice neighbors. Maurice is the sweetest! Cons: The hallways are not clean and sometimes have trash. There is loud bass and music so,what regularly. We had a roach issue at first, but the exterminator resolved it by coming every month or so. The elevator does not always see, safe and is broken regularly. Advice to landlord: Take better care of the common spaces. They are dirty a lot…the hallways, trash areas. It attracts bugs and sets up a culture of not caring in the building.”
