“Just renewed a second year and so far the experience has been unmatched. My roommates and I feel very lucky to be in a such a well run and fantastic building. After a terrible experience at a different building a few blocks away, Olympia has exceeded our expectations. Thank you Olympia! Specifically to David who helped us secure our apartment, and has always been there when we have needed anything since. The doorman and staff have also been great and management as well. Highly recommend this building to anyone looking for a fire spot in Midtown.”

“I have lived at Olympia House for the last 7 years and cannot say enough good things about both the building and staff. As a single girl in her 20s living alone in Manhattan, all of the staff made me feel extremely safe. The doormen would go out of their way to keep an eye on me when I would walk my dog late at night. The porters are great and the super and handyman are extremely responsive whenever any issues arise, even for a light bulb change. Management has been very accommodating with my lease from year to year. Location is great right by grand central making it easy to commute. I would highly recommend Olympia House to anyone looking to live in Manhattan. It was a pleasure living here.”

“At Olympia building you can find a welcoming and friendly environment, which starts with building management, the Super and his team of door-mans and porters, who always have a smile and are ready to help. My family and I lived three years at Olympia, and we never felt it as a temporary house, but a home for this three years. If you're looking for a well managed, central and cosy building, Olympia's the choice.”

“I have lived at Olympia House since 2019 and year over year the building, staff, and management have exceeded my expectations. I love my spacious and renovated apartment, and every time my friends come over they are amazed at the size of the bedrooms and our living space. The kitchen is newly renovated and it is the perfect size and layout for cooking, plus it looks chic, My neighbors are a unique mix of people that are all extremely kind and generous. The building staff is reliable and consistent, quickly fixing maintenance requests, and the doormen are a great safety feature and great people to greet me as I start or end my day. I was very impressed when the gym and outdoor space opened this year, the gym has everything you need to get a good workout in and the outdoor space has strong wifi for a change of scenery or a different workspace if you work from home. Additionally the location close to grand central is a game changer with the new LIRR stop there and easy access to every subway line. I also love being in this location because it’s extremely easy to get uptown, downtown, or to LGA, and if you are a runner or Walker there is easy access to the east side river path. Lastly, the building management are true professionals who care about their tenants. They are a pleasure to work with and are responsive and attentive.”

“My roommate and I moved into a one-bedroom flexed into a two-bedroom back in 2019, and have been here ever since. I can't say enough good things about this building. From the friendly 24/7 doormen always looking out for us, to the building's management (shout out to David/Alexa Hakim), as well as the maintenance crew - just a top notch staff all around. The building has great amenities - a brand new gym, outdoor terrace, laundry facilities - and is conveniently located in the heart of Midtown East. Anyone looking for a luxury building with fair market prices should consider Olympia House!”

“I recently concluded my delightful 1.5-year stay at Olympia House, and I can confidently say that it has been a truly positive experience. As a resident of their furnished studio apartment, I found the overall quality of living to be fantastic. The management and staff consistently demonstrated their commitment to creating a comfortable and welcoming environment. One standout aspect of Olympia House was the incredibly friendly and helpful doormen. Their warm greetings and attentive service always made me feel welcome and valued. Whether it was helping with packages, offering directions, or providing general assistance, they went above and beyond to ensure residents' needs were met. Additionally, I was thoroughly impressed with the promptness and efficiency of the maintenance team. Any issues or concerns I had were addressed swiftly and professionally, leaving no room for inconvenience. It was truly reassuring to know that the team was dedicated to maintaining the building's excellent condition and ensuring a hassle-free living experience. Overall, my time at Olympia House has been marked by comfort, convenience, and exceptional service. The furnished studio apartment provided a cozy living space, while the doormen and maintenance staff added a personal touch that made this place feel like home. I am genuinely grateful for the positive experience and would highly recommend Olympia House to anyone seeking a comfortable and well-maintained living space with outstanding staff support.”

★★★★★Aug 2022

“Pros: AC/heat and water always worked, building is clean, and doormen and handymen are efficient and nice. Cons: They allowed people to smoke cigs INSIDE their apartments, and the smoke smell would come through the vents and stink up my entire apartment. I asked the property manager and doormen if they could ask them to stop but they said they can’t tell people what to do in their apartments, even though I’m pretty sure this is a smoke free building? The property manager said he’ll ask them to stop but it never did. We had a friend (rat) visit our apartment sometimes through the vent behind the sink. I reported it to the handyman, and he insisted on only putting traps to catch/kill the rat instead of blocking the vent where he came from. I kept asking him to just block the source as I’m sure other rats would continue to come even if he killed one, but he wouldn’t. So I had to figure out cover the vent myself which solved the problem. Also saw a rat in the laundry room once but the handyman killed him on the spot. He’s so brave Walls are thin like most NYC apartments so you can hear everything. If your window is facing the ground floor patios, you can always hear when those units are out on their patios and it would get loud sometimes. Sometimes you’ll get a split second of brown water from the sink or shower. It’ll resolve itself after a second but not a fun surprise as you’re in the middle of rinsing your mouth with said water. People on the 2nd floor reported cockroach infestations. Advice to landlord: Figure out the vermin issue and respect the tenants wishes when they ask you to block the source of rats entering the apartment Enforce no smoking rules”

“Pros: Location is good. Doorman and handy man are useful Cons: Old cooking appliances and really small living room with no view for 2brs. Not really suited for someone that likes cooking. Also finishes are old and not really luxury in any sense of the world”

“I lived here for 4 years and enjoyed the entirety of my stay. I will miss it a lot and am only leaving because my roommate is moving out of town for work. The building is always clean and well taken care of. Our apartment was a large flex 2 and has been an amazing place to call home. I have looked at other properties in the area and nothing compares. The building staff is incredible, especially the doorman. And management has always been fair with rent, and very responsive throughout our time here. Wish I could stay and will miss this amazing building”

★★★★★Mar 2022

“Pros: I can't speak highly enough about the doormen of this building. There have been no pests that I've seen. Good location, near Grand Central and not too noisy. Plenty of washing machines/laundry. Things are clean, quiet, and respectful. Love the building and would recommend to friends. Cons: Rent collection- the rent is collected via checks dropped in a lockbox. It's archaic, inconvenient, and prone to issues. My neighbor told me they misplaced not one, but two of her rent checks that were dropped directly into the lockbox the building provided. Management took ages to respond so they couldn't get it resolved until three months had passed. Furthermore, in some units that are advertised as three bedrooms, it's really more of a flex three with a frosted glass sliding door separating the living room from the "third bedroom." Keep this in mind and definitely tour the apartment before signing, as there is virtually no privacy in this "bedroom" and I suggest knowing what you're getting into beforehand. Advice to landlord: Update your rent collection - allow residents to pay rent online. It's much faster, easier, and there's a better paper trail than having to go through the banks. Also, since there are a lot of young people living in the building, it's easier for them as they are totally used to digital payments.”

★★★★★Mar 2022

“Unlike other landlords that care about retention, no matter what rent price you have they will raise the rent to market price the next year. So if the market goes up $2000 a month, you best believe your rent will go up $2000 a month even if that is a 75% increase. They do not care about the inconvenience to the tenants by doing that to them and the standard 10-20% increase other landlords follow. I don't even need to tell you, you can see with the droves of people having to leave now because they doubled the rent. Ask them what is the average time people live there? It is more like a dorm than a luxury midtown high rise. The apartments haven't been updated since 1970s, there are roaches and the only luxury is the location. Don't live here if you want anything long term which is probably why the majority of tenants are teenagers/early 20s.”

“I have had the pleasure of living in Olympia house for the last 7 years and the building and staff has exceeded every expectation. The building is always clean and safe and the staff have put a smile on my face every single day. The units are large compared to other buildings and all appliances, etc are up to date and functional. The location is extremely central with subway access and proximity to everything you could possibly need. I have felt genuinely lucky to live in such a great building and I’ve never felt the level of care that I have from the staff in making sure that everything is always running smoothly and that I am always safe. The building is also quiet and the neighbors are respectful and kind. I would recommend Olympia house to anyone that is considering living in manhattan.”

“I have lived in this building for 10 years. As a young woman I always felt safe, between the doormen, the street filled with restaurants and people dining outside, and the general area - it's quiet but never feels desolate, always feels safe. I've lived in 4 apartments across my time in the building and I always got great light, the closet space is unparalleled, the AC isn't an extra charge leaving you with $200 electric bills, and overall it's just a place I've called home for a long time. During COVID this was my safe place, and it was always comforting being welcomed by the doormen from a night out or days away. I would live in this building forever if I could, it's really a warm and happy place to be. Also convenience: 2 grocery stores down the block, 1 a few blocks further, 2 convenience stores around the corner, 4 starbucks around each corner + a really cute local coffee shop. There's bars on the block, the best sushi restaurant down the street and blocks away from the lively neighborhood/restaurants in the 50's. Ice cream down the street, bagel spot, nail salon downstairs + eyebrows. ATM on the corner. Grand Central blocks away - when commuting is back it's pretty darn easy. Need I say more?”

“We moved into Olympia House right before COVID and have enjoyed our time here. It's quiet, clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Hand sanitizer was installed by the elevators a few months ago, which was nice. The other residents and doormen wear masks about 80% of the time, but the other 20% is pretty annoying to deal with (needing to wait until they put masks on in order to pass them or take the service entrance/stairs.) We're only moving because we need a larger space and there isn't one in the building, otherwise we'd be happy to stay. It's a super convenient location and close to some of the best pizza in New York, Sofia Pizza Co!!”

“I am a current tenant for over 5 years. I thought about changing places during Covid but I am so happy I did not. Our neighbors and close friends moved and they majorly regret leaving Olympia House and are now trying to come back! “I've lived here for a year and it's a really good apartment building. The staff and doormen are very friendly, and the neighborhood is nice and quiet, with not too many people around. “Avoid this building! We though this building would be convenient because it's near Grand Central, but it has turned into a nightmare. There is horrible construction noise on most weeknights and the super will basically just tell you to get earplugs and deal with it. I tried earplugs and a white noise machine and nothing helps. Renter beware! We are finally getting out of here.”
