“Pros: Quiet building located on a quiet residential street. 5 minute walk to 2/5 subway lines. 15 minute walk to Prospect Park. Close to multiple bus routes. Spacious bedrooms with huge living room area. Dishwasher in-unit and laundry in-building. Small gym located on the basement level. Our unit had access to a private patio. Maintenance is super helpful, nice, and quick to respond. Neighbors are pretty quiet and easy-going. Sometimes could smell cigarette smoke in the hallways. Modern appliances and bathrooms. Our unit had 2 bathrooms which was nice for 2 people. No problems with packages or delivery services during 2 years of living here. Cons: Hard water - shower water feels gritty and difficult to wash out of certain hair types. (I have thin/fine hair, and it usually made my hair feel dirty/flat even after showering. My roommate with thicker hair didn't notice though.) Management isn't the best at communicating via email/phone. Sometimes it's difficult to get full answers from them. The building is all electric, and utilities get very high in the winter/summer. Unit doesn't have the best insulation and it was difficult to the temperature. Heat and hot water not included in rent. Advice to landlord: Be more transparent about the leasing process and respond with full answers to emails. Notify tenants before maintenance shows up unexpectedly.”

— 235 MARTENSE STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: I was super excited to see the place. Fairly nice neighborhood Cons: Listing was confusing. Was told that the space was already ready for viewing. Made an appointment. Rang the bell, on time. The tenant answered but didn't open the door. Realtor never showed up, was unresponsive to texts and calls and then apologized trying to reschedule 2 hours afterwards. Advice to landlord: Get a better realtor”
