“Pros: Good responsive super that keeps building clean Cons: No mail room so packages did go missing at times”
— 329 EAST 63 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Everyone in the building is super respectful, relatively quiet building/street for NYC (sometimes there's obnoxious honking because of queensboro bridge traffic), the super is usually responsive, rent does not go up much YoY, good mix of people in the building of all ages lots of young people Cons: Packages get thrown in lobby so there has been package theft before, I have had some pest problems but they did get resolved, washing machines and dryers are under repair often, washing is only quarters”
— 329 EAST 63 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: attentive super, large apartments, nice location Cons: electric heat, slow plumbing”
— 340 EAST 85 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Spacious, well-maintained, no pests, responsive Super Cons: Expensive electric heat, elevator sometimes broken”
— 340 EAST 85 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: -the layout with loft and high ceilings made the apartment feel very spacious -bedrooms were larger than average with walk-in closets Cons: -garbage in the basement boiler room was not ideal for pest and smell reasons -high traffic area near 59th street bridge”
— 329 EAST 63 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Location, good soundproofing between units Cons: Outdated fixtures that would break, unresponsive management”
— 329 EAST 63 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Great location that’s super close to everything, elevator, laundry facilities with lots of machines, decent sound proofing between units, cool unit layouts Cons: Heating unpredictable because it’s not controlled by tenants, there’d be some days where I’d freeze and others I’d be sweating No trash chute, have to go down to the basement Payment via check, no option to pay electronically or by bank Right next to a ConEd power grid, so often lots of loud construction and drilling”
— 329 EAST 63 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Large apartments, great garbage management, good security, super is great Cons: your electric bill will be hundreds a month, during the winter it was upwards of $700 and in the summer no lower than $300, without heat or A/c you will never pay less than $200. This is why they charge so little for rent!! You will also be freezing in the winter!! Apartment never got above 65 degrees!! You will also have hot water for a max of 15 minutes, and you pay for every single second (something they do not disclose on the lease!!) Management is TERRIBLE and will give you an out of service phone number on your lease to contact them if needed. Agent who rented us this apartment is a liar!! Do not trust Ms. Tiboris!! Disgusting!! Living here was an actual nightmare!!”
— 340 EAST 85 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: No real issues with this building Cons: Elevator took 4 months to fix”
— 340 EAST 85 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Elevator, in building laundry, quiet, location Cons: Water heater broke in winter”
— 329 EAST 63 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: High ceilings and good space for ny and high water pressure Cons: Weird smells in the hallways”
— 329 EAST 63 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Spacious and things work most of the time Cons: Large bug/rodent problem in the basement. Advice to landlord: Please be more proactive to ongoing issues”
— 329 EAST 63 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 2B Pros: 1. Affordable for the area Cons: 1. Electric baseboard heat - my last month in the apartment (February), my heating bill was $415 for a 1 bedroom apartment, and the apartment never got warmer than 65 degrees. 2. Super is unresponsive on the weekend even for emergencies - I called the super on Friday at 2pm because the heat wasn't working. The apartment wasn't getting over 60 degrees. I called a few times and left a message. I didn't hear back from him until Monday morning. That's 4 days with broken heat in the middle of winter. 3. They did not return my security deposit because I moved out on the morning of March 1 instead of February 28. Advice to landlord: The properly owner passed away several years ago, and the estate is being controlled by an executor/laywer.”
— 340 EAST 85 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 4G Pros: Location, Cleanliness, bedroom size Cons: No pets allowed Advice to landlord: Please consider allowing small pets”
— 329 EAST 63 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Studio apartment with loft is spacious for nyc. Cons: Street noise is quite loud. Not a place to live for light sleepers”
— 329 EAST 63 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Super is responsive when there is an issue. Building is clean with no pest issues. Safe neighborhood. Very high ceilings and great lighting. Great water pressure and the AC units are heavy duty. Laundry room is good. You can always find an empty washer/dryer. Super is lenient with rent drop off if you're out of town the beginning of the month. Elevator is great. Cons: The heat is horrible. The apartments are freezing cold even when the heater is turned on. You need your own heating unit. Finishes in the apartment are not so great. For example, there are so many coats of paint, it is cracking everywhere. Wood and tiles are all scratched up. You can hear your neighbors in certain parts of the apartment. The apartments facing the street are very noisy. Sometimes the washers/dryers stop working and you lose the money you put in (quarter operated). Advice to landlord: Fix the heat. Get a few new washer/dryers. Everything else is fine.”
— 329 EAST 63 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Close to all cool restaurants, Q and F line that takes you everywhere Cons: Bad super. He yells even when the issue is with the building and not the tenant. So many roaches and mice. I see roaches everyday. Theft!!! People steal packages from the lobby. Water is translucent and musty. Advice to landlord: Teach your super to be better and clean the stairwell once in a while atleast!”
— 329 EAST 63 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Responsive super, very clean building, nice neighbors, great location, elevator Cons: Thin walls, all electric (hot water tanks under the kitchen sink, so you can’t take suuuuper long showers)”
— 340 EAST 85 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: - lots of space - lots of light - never had a pest problem Cons: - in front of a tunnel so noisy - on an incline - I have never been able to get in touch with management. Luckily everything gets fixed pretty okay and the super is somewhat responsive so I guess that’s fine? Advice to landlord: Please provide a phone number!!”
