“Unit 3A Pros: - Very spacious - Relatively quiet - Amenities that it did have were modern Cons: - Infested with every type of creature, from rats to bedbugs, with absolutely no effort to properly fix it from the landlords - Heat was kept insanely hot during winters, so much so that we had to run AC units in the winter - Poor and absent management; cared little for repair or pest problems Advice to landlord: EXTERMINATE ALL THE PESTS AND FIX THE BUILDING”
— 263 LINDEN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: There aren’t any pros. Cons: - heat is barely ever on - any repairs aren’t done until you call 311 - can’t ever get in contact with the office - quick to ask for rent money but won’t fix anything - cheap - hallways aren’t kept up with past the 1st floor. - has cameras in the building just for show, they don’t work (don’t let them fool you) - all around don’t care about the buildings. - tenants almost ALWAYS leave after their lease is up If you have other options, count these buildings out. Advice to landlord: Do better.”
— 255 LINDEN STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 3A Pros: Good size for price and the roof is nice even though you’re not technically allowed up there Cons: Hallways often snell really bad. Stove is kinda broken. No control over hear in unit so it gets really hot and dry. Super doesn’t live in building and he’s difficult to get in touch with. Impossible to get in touch with the landlord. He owns a ton of buildings and so he doesn’t care about this one six-unit building at all. Advice to landlord: Take better care of your tenants, you leech.”
“Pros: Cheap, and a very good location all things considered. Cons: The landlord isn’t actually a landlord, but a huge company with multiple LAWSUITS against them. don’t rent here unless you have nowhere else to go. you will be on your own. Advice to landlord: treat your tenants better”
— 263 LINDEN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Apartments have nice layouts and decent size bedrooms Cons: No heat, owner doesn’t respond to problem”
— 255 LINDEN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Location I guess Cons: Dealt with a very shady broker for a unit on the first floor. Almost signed til I saw they lied about the rent price, wouldn’t let me speak to the owner, AND they disclosed in the lease that there was a history of bed bugs in the unit in the last year. So when I saw that this showed nothing about that, I wanted to make sure people are aware. Also it was dirty even though it had been vacant for a while. Why wouldn’t they clean a unit that had a bedbug infestation? And they kept saying it would be for cleaned by the time we move in. Why had that not been taken care of before you started showing the unit? Advice to landlord: Make yourself available to potential tenants”
— 255 LINDEN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Cheap, close to the train, large rooms Cons: Impossible to get in touch with owner, ever; mouse infestation was a serious serious problem; quite loud; constant leaks Advice to landlord: Pay more attention to big problems”
— 255 LINDEN STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Neighbors are friendly Cons: Landlord never responds to any issues on time or even close to. Heat barely. Advice to landlord: Be more attentive to the needs of the tenants. Especially long term.”
