— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: The place is very clean, people are nice and they respond promptly to any issues. Cons: The apartments are not that big. But ideal for a couple or a small family.”
— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 22b Pros: Good sized apartments. Staff is amazing. Cons: Building is very inefficient. My coned bill averages many hundreds of dollars per month (max was nearly $600 on the winter) due to poor windows and insulation.”
— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Location, In-unit W/D, updated kitchen, decent water pressure, No fee. Cons: They are overpriced for the given amenities. Windows are old and leak, and require plastic window wrapping in the winter to keep cold air out. heating and cooling are inefficient and expensive to run. Have had issues with paint peeling on walls. Advice to landlord: Update the windows.”
— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Clean, friendly doormen Cons: Management is slow to respond about about lease - we waited months to make a name change!”
— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Location. 24h doorman. Cleaning Cons: Heat- was very cold in winter. Administration”
— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: friendly, helpful doormen and porters laundry in building Cons: HIGH price increases old pipes lead to expensive electric bill”
— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Nothing that was positive Cons: Do not rent. Windows and walls leak cold air, to heat such poorly insulated apartments costs hundreds of dollars in electricity bills ($700+ a month in the winter to be exact). Management is unresponsive and impossible to get in contact with. Super is unhelpful and aggressive, resorts to steamrolling and yelling when you attempt to voice concerns. Packages are occasionally lost and there is no recourse. I would give 0 stars if I could. Terrible building, terrible experience. Advice to landlord: Don’t allow families to freeze over the winter”
— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Quiet place to live Cons: Concierge Not as responsive”
— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 14b Pros: Some Staff are good, most just follow the super's commands like sheep- former Super was greedy and egoistic. Cons: Landlord and property mgmt stinks. MOLD in my apartment that made me very ILL! Shameful that they advertise as a LUXURY building! DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!!!!!! The insulation is terrible too, it's always cold in here. LeFrak corporation is notoroius for poorly insulated buildings. RESEARCH IT! Update it is one and a half years later and my last blood and urinalysis still showed multi toxicity from that hell hole. I took the landlord to court. They had a shark of a lawyer who dismissed my claims of illness, although I had ample evidence. They finally let me out of my lease only under the condition that I drop the lawsuit. Shameful. Shameful. Shameful Management. Mold illness can cause cancer. I cannot imagine people living there with little babies with that. Advice to landlord: BUY new PTAC units and remediate, clean HVAC sleeves regularly- Water damage is everywhere!”
— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Well maintained building with great staff and nice tenants. Apartments are spacious, with good closets. Building is quiet. Some apartments have their own washer/dryer, but if not, the basement laundry room is clean and reasonably priced. Great location! Cons: There are only two elevators, and the one designated as the "service" elevator is used for moves as well as for picking up the recyclables from the trash rooms and for the cleaning crew. When that elevator is in use and there's only one available there can be a fairly long wait. Also, unlike many buildings where the heat is supplied centrally, each apartment has units that supply both A/C and heat, so winter ConEd bills can be even higher than summer. Advice to landlord: Keep it up! Glad to live here!”
— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: outdoor garden is great Cons: heat is done electrically therefore you must pay for it in your bill Advice to landlord: please be more communicative around lease renewal time”
— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 21J Pros: Sense of community, spacious apartments Cons: Landlord is greedy and uncaring; no amenities to spewing of except for courtyard which closes at 9. Advice to landlord: Give a damn about your tenants. Attempt to keep good ones.”
— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Nice apartments, nice staff, good water pressure, and great location Cons: Desperately need a freight elevator, there is almost always a huge line for the elevator on weekends. Neighboring buildings are extremely loud Advice to landlord: Invest in a freight elevator and you could charge more for each apartment”
— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Doorman, large bedroom. Big window Cons: Next to a housing project and I got robbed walking home.”
— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Very clean building, no pests, great location. The staff are very friendly. Cons: You have to pay for electric heat which is pricey and the AC is absurdly loud. Management can be hard to reach via email. No gym or rooftop. Advice to landlord: update heaters and AC units. Be willing to negotiate with tenants who want to stay.”
— 620 COLUMBUS AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Laundry in building, friendly doormen, elevator, quiet block close to everything, Central Park in walking distance, multiple subways a couple of blocks away, pets allowed, cute courtyard, huge apartments (we flexed our 1br into two and still had a proper living room), lots of closet space, separate kitchen. Cons: No modern amenities like gym since it’s an older building. Advice to landlord: I have none”
