“Pros: Neighbors are great, and I like the layout of my place. Cons: Maintenance of the building and apartment as bare bones as they can get away with. They say the super is live-in but thats not true. Constantly raise the rent as much as they can do legally.”
— 1410 YORK AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 6J Pros: Big apartment for the price. Neighbors mostly quiet. Cons: Management is terrible at responding to issues. Will leave essential appliances they are liable for broken for months without replacement. Elevator is old and breaks often requiring the stairs. No direct staircase into basement with laundry and trash room. In doing renovations to building will leave mess all over including pools of white paint in elevator. An outlet in the shower. Did not turn heat on in building until the second week of November. Hot water is scalding over 160 degrees from sink and 130 from shower. Neighbors dogs will urinate and defecate in the elevator and they will not clean it up. Management will not return security deposit until as late as possible. Advice to landlord: Spend some of the profit your making to improve the building.”
— 1410 YORK AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Location is good and apartment is a decent size Cons: There is no response or help from management or the landlord. The place is not maintained well and there are constant issues that you have to hound repeatedly to get fixed. It has been problem after problem living here. I would not recommend it.”
