“Pros: Good sized apartment Cons: Extreme issues with neighbor, pests are hard to get rid of. Property management is hard to get a hold of with serious issues. Take picture of everything upon moving in. Advice to landlord: Good luck”
— 1357 HANCOCK STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: heat and ac were great never any power outages or anything packages never stolen no loud noises Cons: tons of accumulated garbage outside dozens of rats in walls making tons of noise, was never fixed building smells bad poor ventilation poor lighting on first floor landlord was manipulative and rude, condescending, would enter without permission this is a review of apartment #1”
— 116 JEFFERSON STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 2R Pros: Nothing honestly The building was a mess Cons: The stairs need to be fixed inside the building Almost tripped multiple times while I lived there Advice to landlord: Fix your building”
— 1345 HANCOCK STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Good location and modern building. Month-to-month lease was very convenient-- you just have to find your replacement. Good air conditioning in the rooms. Cons: We had a leak that took management a VERY long time to address. I also found the management team to be a bit abrasive on the phone with them-- they could work on their organization as well.”
“Pros: good heat, water, and gas. friendly neighbors and building fairly well taken care of Cons: somewhat long response time for pest issues and they had to keep coming back”
— 302 STOCKHOLM STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Small building with only 6 units. High ceilings. Railroad units. Cons: Oldish building, not very well maintained. Old, non functional power outlets are visible throughout the units. Walls have outdated texture. Backyard is moist and in full shade, nothing grows there - trees need trimming. Advice to landlord: Update the apartments to reflect monthly rent. Trim trees and hire a super who knows what their are doing.”
— 1260 DECATUR STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: The AC and location Cons: Mold, water damage, poor ventilation, bugs, bad smell when you walk in”
— 116 JEFFERSON STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: cheap rent, management company is responsive. Cons: Building is definitely falling apart, especially as you enter the building. Pests are definitely a presence on the block but luckily haven’t had issues inside the building Advice to landlord: Fix up entry doorway, find a mail solution for overflow mail.”
— 1357 HANCOCK STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Location; location; location; super is very responsive Cons: Not clean; management try to get money from you even during the pandemic; ceiling leaks water on the stairs; garbage not managed Advice to landlord: Listen to tenants”
— 116 JEFFERSON STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Never had major bug issues. Great location. AC/Heat units in all bedrooms. Cons: The trash problem got so bad multiple times that it piled up and you had to step over piles of trash to enter the building. The walls are paper thin, heard my neighbors have sex and talking on the phone all the time. Says no animals allowed yet had a crazy dog living above me that never shut up. The ceiling in one bedroom started to get a major water leak, landlord did nothing. The building on the side was literally falling down. Built terribly and clearly quickly to just make money. Getting our deposit back was frustrating because they wouldn’t just send it to us they made us go to some random persons apartment and some strange woman we had never met handed us a check. Advice to landlord: Start carrying about your tenants and properties. And have a proper superintendent.”
