HIGHPOINT CONDOMINIUM · avg 4.3 ★★★★★ · New York City
“Unit 29F Pros: Very clean building, never saw a single pest the whole time I was there. Great staff, very polite and helpful. Full grocery store direct across the road and a great convineance store on the ground floor. In building laundry, gym and swimming pool with full-time lifeguard. Cons: Right on the corner of 40th St and 2nd Ave so you are going to have to get used to traffic noise at night.”
— 250 EAST 40 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: enjoyed the doormen, they were all nice. package room was helpful. unit was clean Cons: can be very loud”
— 250 EAST 40 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Not all young people. Well kept. Laundry and gym in the building Cons: Condominium so stricter and had an owner that lived out of the country”
— 250 EAST 40 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: 2nd avenue is such a homey avenue, building has great amenities, rent and home prices are as reasonable it gets in Midtown, proximity to GC also a big plus Cons: The fire station noise is non-stop”
“Pros: Amazing doormen and building staff Cons: Outdated amenities and facilities Advice to landlord: Just a little renovation”
— 250 EAST 40 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Close to the United Nations so very convenient for the UN staff and diplomats. Good heat and water pressure. Decent garbage management and overall cleanliness. Building is populated by working professionals from the UN and nearby offices. Decent size balcony. Close proximity to the Central Station. Cons: This is a condo so you will need to deal with the owner to address substantive issues. My landlord failed to answer any of my requests to fix the dishwasher. Building is rather old. Management is non-existent. Some not very bright people from the floor above me dropped lit cigarette butts on my balcony. I tried to complain that it is a fire hazard but there was absolutely no reaction. North-facing apartments get zero sun. Very dark and gloomy especially during winter. The A/C unit is connected to the balcony. So you will not be able to simultaneously use the A/C and sit on your balcony. Reception and doormen are so rude. They work there forever and feel entitled. They are arrogant and not helpful, except couple of guys. Again, no management to complain. Fire department is next door so it may be very loud. Building construction nearby and 40th Street reconstruction are never ending. They work even at night. The level of noise is so high that I couldn’t sleep.”
