“Pros: Unit H. Brand new renovated kitchen for November 1 lease. Walkable to a lot of Manhattan, good subway access Cons: Electric heat - meaning we had to pay our own electric bills to heat the apartment in the winter. I was poor, therefore I was freezing in the winter. An unhoused person used to camp out on our stoop. I saw someone masturbating on 29th st while making eye contact with me. It's proximity to Penn Station was ultimately a net negative. A lot of rats out front by the trashcan. Me and my roommate got accused of walking loudly by a neighbor below me. Advice to landlord: Don't make people pay for their own heat. It feels illegal but I'm too lazy and too much time has passed now to prove it.”
