“Unit 756 Pros: The neighbors are neighborly Cons: Pests run the building; roaches GALORE! Climbing the walls, floors; they live in the black baseboards and reside in the overflowing garbage in the stairwells (why is garbage and recyclables allowed in the stairwells?!?). Just a serious health hazard. RUN! Advice to landlord: Clean up, hire an exterminator that is knowledgeable, remove the recycle bins from the stairwells.”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Beautiful street with lots of families, groceries stores, shops. Wonderful views from the upper levels. Cons: My unit had problems with bugs from water damage behind kitchen tiles and the occasional roach.”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Unit when we first moved in seemed mostly fine: renovated and well maintained. Generally nicely kept landscaping, newly built bike racks, pet-friendly units. Recent maintenance workers are great. Cons: I’ve heard from long-time residents about the declining quality of life at Flagg Court while rent keeps going up. The main problem that most tenants in this building report is pests. We have a roach and potentially mice infestation, but the building exterminator claims they’ve never seen mice in this building. They have monthly extermination sign-up sheets, but the problem still persists. They need to do a full-scale, building-wide treatment. The laundry room is extremely poorly maintained. Half of the machines are broken, the machines aren’t clean, and the room itself has leaking pipes that I suspect might be the source of the infestation. Our unit did not initially come with a backflow drain valve, so water from either the city or other units backed up and completely flooded our unit multiple times. Advice to landlord: Please do more about the infestation and actually respond to tenant complaints”
“Pros: Everyone is quiet and mind their business trash removal is easy utilities are all included Cons: I’ve had issues with water damage since moving in and it took months to get somebody to come up and look at it and when they did, they cut a giant hole in my wall and they still have not closed that hole and it has been two months. They turn off the water for the building randomly multiple times a month without any warning other than a piece of paper on the elevator the same day The elevator frequently breaks where someone gets stuck in it. Sometimes this is easily fixed within an hour other times it can take two days. Other apartments have issues with roaches I took matters into my own hands, so I don’t have that problem, but realistically the apartment should be doing itself Advice to landlord: Better upkeep in this place would be a fabulous steal”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Garbage disposal is on hall and easy Clean building Cons: Bugs they have exterminator come twice a month but still bugs. Needed repairs to my unit took forever playing phone tag they won’t call you back”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Everything is fine overall except the roaches Cons: Garbage is ineffective and super appears useless. Porters are all very nice though. Roaches. It’s like they don’t even try. Advice to landlord: Sell”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: The neighbors for the most part are lovely, I've made some good friends while living there... Cons: Pests! Roaches & mice; predominantly roaches. Advice to landlord: Remove recyclable from staircase area”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: construction often but looking to improve building which is nice. They had a recent bug and rat problem which again they are actively working on. laundry on site, friendly helpful neighbors. Cons: board takes a while to approve new tenants, requires application fee, move in move out fee, brokers fee, 1st month rent and security. bugs, mice on lower levels. shut off water often for repairs. Have had packages stolen.”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Unit Building 400 Pros: Good neighborhoods and tenants are respectful Cons: + MAJOR PEST ISSUES…MAJOR + Management SUCKS! They WILL NOT respond to your emails, calls, etc. You can only get a response from them unless you’re threatening them and/or the City or Health Department is involved. + Mold issues + I can go on! Advice to landlord: I’m tapped out of advices because it’s not going to go anyway. I’m exhausted at this point. My energy has been tapped out.”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Great location, across from a school, library and plenty of places to eat. The apartments are also very large. Plenty of diverse families + friendly neighbors. Also all utilities were included. Cons: I thought the building would be more taken care of since it’s a mix of co-ops and rentals, I was wrong. Roaches are disgusting and everywhere especially in the garbage area. You can hear conversations through walls of your neighbors. Hot water was turned off for repairs at least twice a month, the same with the elevator that never seemed to work and broke down all of the time. Super was overall nice and responsive. I highly recommend to NOT live here and Flagg Court in general. Rent also went up for old outdated apartments that were not worth the price.”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Quiet, everyone minds their business and neighborhood is safe - pretty view Cons: roach infestation!!!!! water is constantly being shut off for maintenance (2-3 times/month)”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 765 Pros: Quiet large apartment. Cons: Rats, roaches, very badly maintained building, A Super that sexually harasses every woman in the building including stalking and touching and threatening, squatters in some apartments that shit and urine in the elevator and a crackhouse that boosts several crackheads. I can go on and on its A shit show. Advice to landlord: Get a real management not the monsters running it right now.”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Neighbors, pets allowed, nice apartments Cons: Bugs, water turn offs weekly, bugs”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: This was my first apartment living alone. The rent price is good compared to most other BK neighborhoods. I felt pretty safe. Neighbors were generally fine and keep to themselves..at least on my floor (basement level) Cons: Way too many water bugs, roaches and sporadic mice issues. I ended up filling up holes around my sink, stove and behind my fridge on my own. If you notify management they will literally just send an exterminator who will put down sticky traps or spray a bit but doesnt address where pests are actually entering the space. Per my lease, I am not allowed to have pets but dozens of people in my building do, which is unfair. Advice to landlord: There needs to be continuity in lease agreements. One tenant should not be allowed something that another is not. Clean the stairwells more and find an exterminator that actually gets to the root of the issues. Have to add, that you should avoid their basement level. Major flooding issues anytime there is significant rain. Not worth the stress”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: *Layout of the apartment is nice. New windows are nice too. *Love the location. Bay ridge is great. Ferry to downtown is close to this building. Food choices abound. *Elevator is fast. *2 laundry rooms. Cons: As the title states, the management company is The Worst. Everyone who lives here knows it, but some of them own and they are stuck. Currently, the Mgt Co is called Newport Management, and a few years ago it was Leemar Management. I suspect it's essentially the same company, but they change their name every few years to shed their negative reviews (of which there are many). This block of 6 buildings has a Facebook page where the residents primarily complain about how terribly things are run. Some residents are attempting to seek a class action suit to get rid of management (I think). *Water turned off on a regular basis. Sometimes once a week, sometimes once a month. But it happens with often minimal notice for hours at a time. I'd estimate it happens around 2-3 times a month. *MOLD is all over this place. I just got done cleaning it out of the Master bedroom a week ago. It's already reappearing. When we 1st moved in, we couldn't use the Master bedroom for 2 weeks while they "dried it out" with a giant fan. MOLD in the bathroom too. My walls were soft. They sent a guy who literally painted over the mold. *They cut corners everywhere. None of my outlet face plates are actually attached properly. The paint is cheap and smells cling to it. Everything is a patch job so it looks okay when you view the apt, but starts to suck after a while. *It goes without saying that your complaints will fall on deaf ears. *Don't bother trying to get their cheap parking spots. None available and they don't answer your emails. *If you plan to own, I've noticed that their maintenance fees are pretty high (I rent). Some people are having a hard time selling their co-ops because of the fees. Advice to landlord: See all the cons.”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Two supers. Pretty responsive as long as you stay on top of them. You Cons: If it’s not considered an “emergency” it’s a pain to get anything replaced/fixed.”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: It’s ridiculously cheap to live here and the apartments are spacious. Also utilities are included in rent so you don’t have to pay anything extra. Cons: There’s roaches and the management team is impossible to get ahold of. They don’t clean the floors and the garbage rooms are bad.”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Nice location in bayrige area Cons: The mintanance team is not working . They don't want to fix anything Advice to landlord: Working between to mintanace teams is making I hard for all tenat .”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Nothing to say Cons: Everything’s a mess Advice to landlord: Getting your act together soon”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Free utilities, good location Cons: Incessant drilling, roaches, peeling paint, banging pipes, mold, water leaks, old dilapidated kitchens, no accessibility ramp, etc. Advice to landlord: Fix your building if you want to have any owners/tenants and avoid fines”
— 190 72 STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: The building is quiet Cons: Water gets turned off constantly for entire days with no notice. There is construction 24/7. Advice to landlord: Fix water issue and communicate”
