“Pros: Quiet, maintenance is responsive, unit has great finishes, doormen are friendly. Cons: Laundry machines are constantly broken.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 529 Pros: Building is rent stabilized, large windows and large balconies, well insulated, somewhat soundproofed, nice floors, multiple elevators. Cons: Building feels like it is not being taken care of, management is not responsive and very dismissive, super asks for cash payments to make sure you get your deposit back, many people have reported not getting their deposits back or only partial for normal wear and tear. Amenities are almost always broken. Advice to landlord: Respond to tenants issues more directly and answer questions with full thought.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Good size apts, reasonable prices, great rooftop Cons: Local community sneaking in, non residents using resident spaces Advice to landlord: More on site staff”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Building is in a great location, clean and has a nice esthetic. Cons: Neighbors are extremely loud and not self-aware. Advice to landlord: To seriously consider issues when they are brought up by tenants. In addition, to do a better job at vetting out the tenants.”
“Unit 452 Pros: Beautiful lobby Good proximity to trains, restaurants, nightlife, groceries Dog friendly Cons: Management is utterly incompetent and they do not care about their tenants. You will not be able to get ahold of anyone over the weekend, even in case of emergency. The laundry room is ridiculously expensive ($3.50 per wash/dry, I think sometimes higher, making one small load $7 min!!! for a 2 person household we usually have 4-5 loads a week given how small the washers are). But most of the time, the machines don’t even work!!!! As of now, about 70% of the machines are busted, and no one takes out their clothes in a timely manner. Mosquito infestations in all outdoor amenity spaces (dog park, roof, etc.). Gym constantly has broken equipment and is not well maintained. Some neighbors are nice - others are insufferable. Cigarette and weed smoke wafts up and down the halls - I’m 420 friendly but the smell is ridiculous. Advice to landlord: Get real”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: The building is beautiful and generally well maintained. The roof is like a resort, the gym is great, and staff are friendly Cons: You have to pay more for the amenities, the laundry is expensive, and the units are only ok”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 728 Pros: Great amenities and outdoor spaces. The staff is great. Cons: Management agent is awful. Slow to respond to requests and very rude. Advice to landlord: Fix the morale of your management team. They clearly hate working there.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 108 Pros: We have been here for a year, and really enjoyed living here. The amenities are great although some of the higher level ones seem to go almost completely unused (we just had the basic package, it gets pretty expensive for the top tier). The staff were great and friendly (shoutout to Leonard), any minor issues we reported were dealt with in a timely manner. The rooftop is great. We found our apartment to be quite spacious and comfortable. Management organize some cute building parties for Halloween and 4th of July etc. which were fun! We overlooked the courtyard and I felt like it was quite peaceful. Foodtown grocery store on Noll St is very nice and convenient. Cons: Our agent told us that there would be free yoga classes in the building, but this only started up again in the last few months (but when they started they were great! Thanks Angie!). We moved in right after Passover, and management didn't have a key ready for us, they tried to make it seem like our fault but we were not aware we had to put in a request for keys to be made and our lease started that day. The front desk also told us we couldn't move in that day but we insisted. In our case, we didn't have movers, and were on the first floor so we didn't need to rent an elevator (something they don't seem to mention beforehand but then when you get there it is an issue). It is possible that if management had not been offline for Passover, these things wouldn't have been an issue. The area is not the best, very industrial on the way to the L and around the Flushing M/J/Z stop, it is a mess with garbage blowing around. You are a decent 20-30 minute walk to most of the main draws of Bushwick. As for the laundry room, it is hit or miss, when we moved in it was a huge miss but things have seemed to improved. You can get a decent washer and dryer or not and you won't know until after you have already paid a pretty high price for the machines. We were using a laundromat for a few months instead. Biggest pet peeve about the laundry room is you have to use cash to top up your laundry card (the ATM in building has a 3 or 4$ fee for use) and you can't use 1$ bills to top up your account so you end up getting an odd amount left on your card.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Clean, cleaning staff Cons: Cigarette smoke, unresponsive management, extreme noise, gym use rattles apartments at all hours, poor ventilation, trespassers in building Advice to landlord: Listen to your tenants. Hire more staff because nobody can keep up with this building”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 829 Pros: The staff are all really great and helpful. I don't use the amenities much but they're in pretty decent condition. It's situated between the L and M/J lines. I really love my apartment. Great layout, large south facing windows. My apartment is like a greenhouse almost, which means I almost never have to turn on the heat in the winter. It does get very hot in the summer though and expensive to cool down. Cons: It's a bit far from the subway station. About a 7-12 minute walk to the nearest subway lines depending on which one you're going to. The super and building management are really hard to get a hold of. Not even the building staff seem to have the ability to contact the super/management. The coned delivery charges in this area are insane. Most months I pay more for delivery than than electricity itself.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Gym was clean and organized, clean for the most part, garbage is promptly removed from refuse room. Cons: Elevators are down or in-use often, random people taking doing photoshoots in the common areas”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 153 Pros: the building cleaning staff works hard to keep a clean environment, packages are never stolen because there is a package room. Cons: TOO NOISY! People treat the building gym like it is a powerhouse gym, throwing weights at all hours of the day. I live on the 1st floor and my walls are constantly shaking from the gym. Walls are extremely thin so I can hear everything my neighbors are saying and watching. Additionally, although it is supposedly a non smoking building, I have had an issue with cigarette smoke filling my apartment. As an asthmatic it has been impossible to be comfortable in my own apartment. Advice to landlord: Respond to tenants and work harder to fix issues. Stop responding to emails saying you're sorry something is happening then doing nothing to fix it.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 612 Pros: Super clean, nice amenities Cons: Price could be lower especially how bad and dirty the neighborhood around is”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Amenities, doorman, nice units Cons: Electrons high, laundry is expensive, amenities are extra charge”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 256 Pros: Beautiful, clean, amazing amenities, comfortable kitchens. Great water pressure. Big and beautiful windows. Cons: It’s very expensive to rent the amenities. Sometimes the doorman doesn’t pay attention to who enters the building. Advice to landlord: Reduce the price of the amenities so they can be actually used.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Beautiful lobby, great amenities , great appliances and fixtures in apartment Cons: Understaffed , doormen don’t check people in, neighbors don’t pick up after the pets , turned big chunk of units into affordable housing during pandemic for tax break. Advice to landlord: Hire more people for the front desk”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 535 Pros: The building is brand new and very comfortable! Lived here with a roommate in a very spacious 2-bedroom 2-bathroom with tons of natural light! The roof of the building is incredible. Everything was always clean and orderly and all maintenance requests were answered same day. Cons: The property management firm has very odd hours and is sometimes quite unresponsive, especially when it comes to amenity-related matter. Amenities are a bit of a scam sometimes as well - the cinema room is never available and the sauna is almost always closed. Packages also took forever to be processed sometimes. The area is kind of odd - it's a good 10-15 min walk to anything enjoyable.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Unit G44 Pros: Pretty clean building, nice finishes, cute common areas. Cons: Door man does not prevent people from waltzing in, neighbors are inconsiderate, noise carries like crazy, management is only attentive and responsive when they want money from you. Most of the kitchen sinks leak, construction is pretty shoddy low key. Advice to landlord: Be more responsive when your tenants reach out to you especially if they express they are experiencing hardship”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Alot of amenities Cons: Management sucks and is rude, they do not answer to anything on time and then hit you with late fees for no reason Advice to landlord: Do better”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: This building is beautiful. Gorgeous units, phenomenal amenities. The rooftop is perhaps the best in Brooklyn. There is TONS of common space so you can relax outside or have a private working space within the safety of the property. Cons: Almost every other aspect of this building besides the looks is lacking. Goose Management is awful to deal with. They NEVER pick up their phone, and will take weeks to respond to an email. I did not receive my security deposit until over TWO months past my move-out date which was completely unacceptable. Aside from that, the security on the premises is abysmal. We experienced multiple break-ins from outside individuals who attempted to unlock occupied units on more than one occasion, and management promised that they would increase security and ensure that there were always two front door staff at all times. Unsurprisingly, they did not deliver on these promises, and the front is often left unattended. The real icing on the cake for me, and what made me glad to be leaving this place, was when I gave notice I would not be renewing my lease, and that SAME DAY, a broker and four prospective tenants unlocked and entered my unit with no warning for a tour. This shows that the building gives ZERO regard for your personal safety and security, and will happily give out your key to anyone who asks for it. This was truly appalling and I was only met with attitude and excuses from both the broker and building management about the situation. I know Rheingold looks shiny on the outside, but it is truly a nightmare. Forgot to add also that walls are PAPER thin and you will hear every single word spoken and noise that your neighbors make. Good luck! Advice to landlord: Just read everything I wrote above. Pay your building staff more and hire more front door staff so that they are not exhausted and overworked and quit after a month.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: The apartments are spacious, and seem pretty nice. The roof amenity when not overcrowded is super nice. The gym has some nice touches (e.g., treadmill desks). All of the front desk staff were amazing! Cons: Management is slow to respond and nickels and dimes you for everything. The other tenants can be pretty disrespectful (dog poop in the halls and stairways), inviting huge parties to the roof, leaving trash on the roof. Advice to landlord: Try to meet people half way, and treat your door staff with the utmost respect, they put up with a lot.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“The amenities are great! Wonderful community in the building, and close to the L and J trains! The doormen are lovely, and it’s awesome that I can get my packages delivered safely and even groceries which are chilled until I get home from work. Love the sauna!”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: The building itself is great - good location (convenient to the J, M, and L trains), decent space in apartments, really nice bathrooms, and all very new. If you pay extra for amenities, there's a good gym, sauna, and wonderful roof with grills. Maintenance and building staff are very nice and helpful. Cons: Management simply does not care and is very restrictive about many things, such as: - Roof / roof grills are only open from Memorial Day to Labor Day even though amenities membership must be purchased for a full year - Management believes that compost will attract pests and refuses to consider and get more information about the free NYC compost program, event though multiple residents have requested this - The roof top fire pit is not able to be used due to safety concerns with no information about how this might be resolved - The entire roof was closed on 4th of July 2022 for a management-sponsored party so residents could not use the grills or roof at any other point during the day, the only option was to attend this specific event. It was not communicated that the roof would be closed for the entire day until the day off. - Front desk/lobby and mailroom staffing is severely understaffed. In a building of 500 apartments, there is often only 1 person between the front desk and mailroom and frequently no one there during breaks. There seem to be random closures of the package room with no communication about the open/closed times. - Technically, there are no guests or personal trainers allowed in the gym unless you specifically book through management. Advice to landlord: Staff the front desk/mail room properly. Communicate better with tenants. Listen to tenant requests and complaints and actually make changes.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: • Relatively clean in common areas • Door staff always present • Many facilities Cons: • Animal excrement in lobby and elevators • Excessive noise from neighbours at night • Hallways stink of weed and cigarette smoke”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: - The front desk staff is possibly one of the best things about the building. They're always friendly and as helpful as they can be. - Large apartments with large windows and ample natural sunlight - Generally the building is kept very clean by cleaning staff, however that doesn't stop irresponsible tenants from leaving their dogs' excrement in the hallways and elevators - Lots of nice shared spaces (rooftop, lobby lounge, co-working spaces) Cons: - Thin shared walls; you will hear your neighbors' conversations, music, etc. and their loud dogs. We were unlucky to have neighbors who liked to blast their music/TV/movies at full volume, so be warned if you regularly work from home. - Terrible ventilation. Strong smells from neighbors smoking inside their apartments will inevitably travel to your unit and there's nothing you can do to fix it unfortunately. - Extremely loud construction noise for all apartments facing Montieth Street. - Irresponsible neighbors who will neglect to clean up after their dogs in hallways, elevators, sidewalks. Watch your step. - Expensive electricity bills due to the electric water heaters in each individual unit. - Expensive all around - rent AND amenities. Management will find a way to charge you for everything. - Shared laundry room- many of the machines will randomly break; again, some irresponsible neighbors will forget to pick up their laundry loads and hog the machines for hours”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: The amenities, apartment deck, insulated windows, low noise levels, huge master bedrooms that fit king size beds, storage space in apartment, and the building management is very responsive. Whenever I submit a request for something to be fixed, someone is at my door within the day and everyone is super nice. Cons: wooden floors are scratched. Can hear everything in hallway and can smell if another apartment is cooking something or smoking (carries through vents in bathrooms). Advice to landlord: Great management company! Appreciate their quick response and friendliness. Please don’t charge extra for amenities.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Direct sunlight in the rooms Cons: Horrible Management team Advice to landlord: Hire new management at the goose property team office they never pick up the phones. Are rude when they do and can never reply to emails”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: rooftop is great Cons: neighbours leaving dog shit all over the hallways”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Amenities are nuts here. Building staff are great. Rent stabilized. Top notch construction. Cons: Laundry room has too many broken units. Advice to landlord: The laundry room needs taking care of. No excuse for having half the machines out of commission. That is really my only complaint about the place. Been here 4 years and will be here for much longer.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: New and clean. Great amenities. Pet friendly Cons: Additional fee for certain amenities”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: It’s a nice building with a lot of amenities. When it was new it was great. Trent desk are lovely people. Cons: I had roaches coming out of my sink and from around my dishwasher. I was the first person to live in the apartment. The crowd was very rowdy with huge parties every weekend on the roof. Not uncommon to find puke or dog feces in halls and elevators. Advice to landlord: Hire more people to control the crowds and secure the building.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: very nice amenities Cons: horrible secruity management for such a large building. never anyone at doorman station doing their job. Advice to landlord: hire more secruity”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: - new modern building - large bathrooms - amenities: gym, sauna, laundry, rock gym, etc… Cons: - loud neighbors”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Rooftop, dog park, workplace stations - very quiet if your apartment faces the courtyard Cons: Coffe area never opened - dog park is dirty but is the tenants fault for not picking up after their dogs - if you promote a building with amenities they shouldn’t be change.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Great building staff, particularly the doorpersons Cons: Everything comes at an additional fee, and were often in repair/unavailable Advice to landlord: Hire more building staff — they can’t be expected to handle the sheer volume of tenants demanding their attention”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Amenities, amenities, AMENITIES. The outdoor spaces are beautiful and well maintained. Cons: The lack of security guards for the size of the building.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Very Friendly Staff Cons: Management is terrible”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: The doormen are AMAZING. They don’t get enough credit. The roof is gorgeous, and is what convinced me to resign my lease. My unit is really beautiful and sunny and spacious. Cons: Overpriced for this neighborhood considering amenities cost extra, I’d understand the cost if they were included but without them the cost to live in this neighborhood in this building is outrageous. Pretty far from the subway. NOT ENOUGH STAFF! Central air/heat costs a fortune and my apartment turns into an oven in the summer as it gets a lot of sunlight and although beautiful, the floor to ceiling windows don’t offer much ventilation. Advice to landlord: Hire more staff and make amenities free”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Super is responsive, building is new and v clean Cons: Thin walls/doors so it's noisy”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Amenities are great Cons: Management is the absolute worst Advice to landlord: Management needs to understand that everybody signed the same lease. Other tenants who consistently break the rules (eg smoking, noise disturbances, etc) should be dealt with. Also, amenity spaces need to be maintained better. And one front desk person for a building of 500 people is absolutely unacceptable and not what was promised upon lease signing. Everything here is so disorganized, it is just pathetic.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Shared work spaces, rooftop, large windows, central ac, and having a garbage chute and laundry room in the building. Cons: My neighbors have parties on the roof and prop outside doors open to let anyone in. It’s nice for them but sucks for anyone that wants to grill or chill up there. Flushing Ave is super loud, but I heard living above the dog run is even louder. You pay too much money for electricity which includes your tiny water heater which brings it up to (on average) $200+ a month. That heater will never give you enough to fill your bathtub, sorry! There’s no accountability for any of the building rules, which means shared amenities are abused and there’s dog poop everywhere.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 417 Pros: Staff are wonderful Looks great on the outside Amenities are great if they were open Cons: Fire alarm constantly goes off- no vent above cooker Can’t access mail in a timely manner because the management doesn’t staff enough people Smells come through the vent as there is no filtration You can only fill the bath 1/4 way with hot water as they have water tanks too small to fill the bath !!! Advice to landlord: Upgrade the water tanks please!”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: The cleaning staff are nice people. Cons: This building is the worst I’ve ever lived in with all the drug use and cigarettes constantly being smoked inside. But not only do I have to deal with that on a daily basis. I have to deal with a man who has been banned from the building constantly being around drunk and harassing me and threatening me. Management did nothing at all and does nothing at all. So no security in the building at all. And then to make matters worse someone on the fifth floor apartment facing Forrest street people were throwing things lit on fire at residents walking on the sidewalk. It almost hit me and came extremely close to another woman who was crying after the incident walking her dog as well. My car has been keyed and vandalized in the garage, and management did nothing. Did not care in the least. I can say this has been the worst experience as a tenant I’ve ever had my whole life of renting. I’ve never had things lit on fire thrown at me and nothing be done about it after. I’m horrified here. Advice to landlord: Sell the building to people who can handle it.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Fancy waterfall in the building lobby Cons: DO NOT MOVE HERE! My partner and I have lived here since July 2020 and from the second day of living here, it has been a nightmare. Not only were we harassed and threatened by one of their doorman staff (whom, has since then been terminated), but we've had an intoxicated tenant come to our door and nearly harm us with a knife (of which the building did NOTHING to resolve), and our dog was recently attacked by another tenant's dog (and you guessed it, the building has taken NO action to resolve our concern). The superintendent doesn't work weekends, so if you have an issue Friday night, expect a response the following Monday or Tuesday. The property management team fails to respond to calls/emails from tenants (known issue); so if you get into an altercation with another tenant and you are physically harmed, don't expect a reply back, just deal with the pain. Someone parked in your parking spot? Too bad, even though you pay $200+ a month for the designated spot. Just because you pay monthly for an in-building storage unit, that doesn't mean your personal items are safe from being discarded, since the management team and in-house management have poor communication and don't update their records. Your UPS package arrived at 9am, but you won't be able to pick it up until 8-8:30pm. Oh it's urgent? Too bad - It takes their staff several hours (up to 24 hours) to prepare tenant mail. Lastly, your rent per month here is similar to that of what an average mortgage would be, but it feels like you're living in the projects. (Fancy waterfall in the lobby, though. So, at-least there's that..) This building is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Don't move here, seriously. Advice to landlord: Quit or sell the building to someone who will do better.”

— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: - The roof. - Building staff are all great Cons: - Everything is poorly constructed, things falling apart all over and it’s only two years old. Walls are paper thin. The HVAC system has no filters of any kind so you get cigarette smoke and all kinds of odors from apartments nearby. -During Covid management repeatedly harassed people for nonpayment of rent, threatening eviction when there was a moratorium. Zero enforcement of mask wearing. Amenities like the gym were opened way before the city let public gyms open (as they were mad people weren’t paying amenities fee I’m guessing). - The building staff are all nice and work hard. However they’re always understaffed and cant realistically do all they need to. Hence having to wait days sometimes to have a package checked in. Also this had led to multiple security problems, attempted breakins etc as anyone can just walk into the building. -They will try to charge you for everything. Have attempted to charge multiple tenants $300 to look at security footage after a theft occurred due to lack of building security. - Zero cell phone reception in building regardless of carrier Advice to landlord: Have some basic empathy.”
— 10 MONTIETH STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Great views from the roof but they shut down the roof for most of the year. Cons: This building is dangerous. They do not staff the front desk properly (which is mean to the doormen who work really hard!) and there is basically no security. There have been two intruders (one armed!) that have come into people's apartments while they were home and didn't even have to break in as they were able to just get in through the building's front door. There are enormous parties on the roof almost every weekend (which in covid-times is really unsafe.) Management is hostile and does not respond quickly nor are they willing to work with tenants to improve living conditions. I would strongly, strongly, strongly, strongly recommend moving elsewhere if you are considering living here. I wish I had. I regret living here enormously. Advice to landlord: Staff the front door! Please.”
