— 119 ROGERS AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Well, it's cheaper than other places this big Cons: The building has changed hands a couple times. The most recent owner said he wanted one of the units for "personal use," and upped the rent outrageously in order to drive out tenants. While I lived there the temperature was routinely below 60 degrees in my bedroom over the winter. The unit was impossible to keep warm or cool and ourselves and other tenants in the building sometimes had con ed bills over $1000. There were rats in the walls & ceilings, and rat feces could be seen around the building. Water leaked out of the lights in the kitchen. We loved this apartment dearly because it was our home but it was an absolute shithole and the management was callous, unresponsive, rude, and generally completely oblivious to the fact that they had made people's homes and lives their business. Advice to landlord: Screw you.”
