“Pros: - The doormen are very friendly and helpful - Mostly timely responses to maintenance issues Cons: - The gym is very small and requires an extra fee. They also do not allow you to pay for the gym monthly, only yearly. - Rent is high for what we're getting - Dealt with the occasional water bug and a couple instances of German roaches (lived on a high floor) - Sometimes do not hear back about maintenance requests”
— 884 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Overall, after 5 years, I’ve loved the building and the area. The doormen are super nice and helpful. Our apartment had a washer and dryer for a somewhat reasonable price for NYC, although we initially got the apartment on a major COVID deal so that could be why. But generally speaking I’ve enjoyed my time living here and common areas were always well kept. Cons: While the area is great, it’s horrible when the UN is in session. Maintenance was always quick to respond, but we always had so many issues with things breaking or not working properly, and they’d just do bandaid fixes every time. Amenities are fine enough for what they are but cost extra. Advice to landlord: Be better about actually fixing recurring issues”
— 884 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Flex room was flexed well. Cons: Stellar Management treated me like garbage. They put my roommate and my lives at risk with their negligence, refused to pay for emergency room costs, and threatened to sue if we sued. 0/10 management. Also, we had mice, Portuguese waterbugs, and carpet beetles in the apartment, and cockroaches in the gym. Also, there was no way to turn off the heat in the winter. It was literally 85 degrees every night in my room. Advice to landlord: Be better people”
“Unit 17D Pros: Doorman building, elevators, gym, laundry, always clean Cons: Broker fee paid by tenets Advice to landlord: Pay the broker fee please”
— 884 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: It's a decent 1960 building, with solid construction and spacious apartments (although low ceilings), partially modernized. Cons: Stellar, the management company, is one of the worst in the city. They are impossible to deal with, regularly lie, and harass tenants they want out with spurious lawsuits. For instance, they pretend not to have received signed renewal leases on time, then sue to evict you. These things are easily overturned -- once you fight back they drop it -- but it's no way to live. Advice to landlord: Sell the building to someone who has even the slightest concern for tenants.”
— 884 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Nice apartments, mine was newly renovated Nice doormen Cons: Roaches in apartment Advice to landlord: Take care of the pest problems”
— 884 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Amazing doormen Spacious apartments Ice maker!! Cons: Sometimes loud on weekends”
— 884 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 14J Pros: lobby is clean, doormen are okay, they were going to waive the fee for the gym and amenities for us. liked being able to leave boxes in an area for pickup Cons: completely roach infested and smelled like pee in the hallways. management was super unresponsive and it would take multiple calls and emails to even be granted a response. our apartment was given to us with a hole in the floor, the bathtub vinyl peeling off in huge chunks and rusted, and cockroaches everywhere. their team was very dismissive to me as a single female and would not take my complaints seriously. had to file a report with HPD and they used it as a reason to not give me money back when we broke our lease. Advice to landlord: be kinder? treat tenants' concerns as if it was you living in that establishment? more communication between management and the vendors you use to clean/make updates”
— 884 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 4A Pros: Apartments are spacious and clean. Management is very responsive Cons: Building gym is outdated, small, and needs to fix some of the machines Advice to landlord: I enjoyed my time here”

— 884 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 16A Pros: - Great staff - Lobby and elevators well maintained Cons: - Dirty hallways at times - Hallways could use paint job - Front doors could use paint job - Gym in basement is typically out of order. Limited equipment ever works Advice to landlord: Redo gym, tend to hallways”
— 884 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: - doormen and maintenance staff are amazing and responsive - super clean and updated amenities Cons: - right next to trump tower/the UN; frequent protests, security, and police made for very loud saturday mornings and difficult commutes to work due to road closures, etc.”

— 884 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Good spaces Some units have washer dryer in unit Elevator, doorman Cons: Nothing really, good first apartment”
— 884 2 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Fast and helpful building manager, clean in common areas Cons: Elevators are finicky, no recycling (or very questionable recycling), sometimes bugs in dishwasher and building wasn’t super helpful (went away though.) Advice to landlord: Communicate recycling process better and provide more extermination options/updates. A building Facebook or NextDoor group would help also.”
