“Pros: Management was always very responsive and prompt with issues with the apartment and service requests. No major pest issues. Utilities were not excessively expensive. Cons: Packages are often stolen. The door code box didn’t work for a long time. The garbage is poorly managed. I’m not sure if that’s a tenant or a management issue, but it often got to be really gross and piled high with trash outside the bins. Advice to landlord: Better trash management (more bins?)”
— 401 EAST 50 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Young tenants, clean and quiet, safe area Cons: Heat and water issues”
— 401 EAST 50 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 2B Pros: Great natural light Cons: The heat and hot water turned off for a few weeks in the middle of the winter. The building did not have much control over this and did not offer rent relief”
— 401 EAST 50 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 3A Pros: Nice apartment overall with newer appliances Cons: Mice issues and garbage is poorly managed, management isn’t great and very slow. They also made a change in landlord without telling anyone and no one knows the new phone number for him.”
— 401 EAST 50 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Nice new renovated units Cons: There are rats out by the garbage and it can be loud at time.”
— 401 EAST 50 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Management is usually responsive when emailing Apartment is newly renovated and has lots of natural light Cons: Heat and hot water broke several times during the dead of winter”
— 401 EAST 50 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Building is renovated and newish on the inside, neighbors are quiet and friendly. Cons: SO MANY MICE. And a few cockroaches too. The exterminator that came did nothing to fix any holes or catch any mice. In the past few months we have caught 2 mice, and more mice have been running around the apartment. Mice droppings have been found in our beds. Mice all over the garbage cans in the outdoor garbage area.”
— 401 EAST 50 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Small building, good location but Cons: Horrible management, enough to avoid living there because maintenance will never happen. Heat is controlled mainly through building despite what they say about you controlling it yourself from radiator valve, so it’s always way too hot in winter. Paper thin walls”
— 401 EAST 50 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Apartment looks beautiful and renovated. Cons: The walls are very thin, can hear neighbors having conversations in other apartments. There is a lack of response from management, no urgency over heating problems and mice. Heat doesn’t work, unbearably cold in the winter. Advice to landlord: Be more responsive to urgent issues.”
