“I highly discourage anyone from signing a lease with Algin Management due to heavy construction in their buildings and a total lack of decency in terms of management's response. Due to COVID-19 vacancies, they are tearing up units left and right. You can expect at least 8 hours of drilling, hammering, and vacuuming every day, which resonates through the thin concrete walls in their buildings. This makes it impossible to work from home during quarantine. From my experience at The Murray Park, management is also impossible to reach. The super (Al Karaqi) and property manager (Dan Hochstadt) don't respond to texts or emails at all - you'll have to get lucky with a well-timed phone call. There is zero notice for upcoming apartment construction, water shutdowns, hallway renovations, etc. The corporate office also strategically doesn't provide any direct phone numbers. Instead, you have to go through an unpleasant receptionist, who will redirect you to an email address of a supervisor (Danielle Koehler). If you're lucky, she'll call you from an "Unknown" number, so you can't follow up with her. Overall, I wasted a tremendous amount of money with Algin, paying a premium to live in their "luxury" building, which turned out to be more of a construction workshop and a storage unit, rather than an apartment. Algin's buildings are a total disaster at the moment, and combined with the poor building management and corporate response, I strongly encourage you to save your money and look elsewhere.”

“The staff is wonderful and they're the only reason we stayed here for 4 years, but the building has constant construction which has really been highlighted with covid, hearing banging throughout the day makes it impossible to work from here. Whether they're renovating an individual apartments (which are many, since the building is truly clearing out as the management company does not incentivize people to renew their leases), or the hallways which are also being renovated now (these worked are also playing loud music during the day and often not wearing masks in the hallways), it's really constant. The building is on 34th st but make no mistake that the majority of the disturbances will be from within the building itself, not from 34th street. The people who live in the building are also really loud, with a few apartments flexed to a point where they almost resemble a frat house. Great for recent college grads looking for an affordable place to live, but terrible for anyone who has to work from here during covid, or for anyone who doesn't want to hear their neighbors yelling or loud music on every night of the week.”

“I have lived at the Murray Park for over 20 years. This building used to be great. Now, it is not bad but noisy neighbors and loud parties every weekend made me leave. Besides noise caused by neighbors - people who have moved to the building in the past years - the only other inconvenience was the fact that the management was slow with turning the Central AC on; no matter how hot was in April or May the AC is not on sooner than May 15. Same story with the heat ... Staff is helpful and friendly, from super to handymen. I believe that the management wants new tenants so they can increase the rent.”

“If your thinking moving into this building think twice it is not worth your money the worst staff in the city, dirty building, rodents,the staff don't clean The hallways as they should, a lot of noise, parties all the time( frappe house). Doorman the worst ever, dirty and worthless. I lived in this building for 20 years and give it 1.5 STAR”

“Miserable. They have been doing construction for what seems like an eternity. The drilling and jackhammering beings promptly at 845am and lasts well into the late afternoon (around 4-430). It blows my mind how long it has taken and that they are STILL doing the same thing day in day out. I would like to say I am going to renew my lease but I dont see how I can when the quiet enjoyment of my apartment has been stripped away. I would even pay to break the lease at this point so I can finally get some f**king sleep! I would wait a year (or 2 if they continue with this sluggish construction) to move into this place. Unless you like being woken up by jackhammer every morning. Then by all means, sign a lease here.”

“I really want to leave this apartment ASAP. only few doorman are helpful, but other doorman are so lazy and rude. Also, the super is so annoying. He is amiable when it's nothing, however, and you have to ask him hundreds times to fix your room, ,,and he said 'it's done" even it's not done!!!! If you make a compaint about his job, he changes all of sudden, and become so offensive, yelled,,,so scary. Don't move to this apartment. I'm really sure you feel uncomfortable those pepole.”

“Please please please read this review before renting in this building. The apts are large, and the rents low, for a reason. Algin Management is HORRIBLE. A man by the name of Dan from Algin is solely responsible for The Murray Park. Myself and friends in the building have contacted Algin on multiple occassions over the past few years in regards to major issues in the building, and not ONCE has anyone in management been responsive. Issues I've personally enoucountered are: roaches, water bugs, mice living in the hallway, syringes found in the laundry room (!!!!!), consistently broken elevators, and my list goes on. I have had to have the locks changed on my apt because someone was coming into my apartment multiple times a week and drinking my alcohol (there were missing bottles), watching my tv (I would turn my tv on when I got home from work and the tv would turn onto a random channel that i've never watched), and belongings would be moved around my apt. I've had enough of this building, and will not be resigning my lease come this fall. Please do yourself a favor and do NOT move in. There are FAR better management companies that are responsive to tentant needs and complaints, and employ staff of higher quality.”

“Unfortunately, my job relocated me out of the city. I've lived in numerous buildings all over Manhattan, and to be honest The Murray Park was amongst my favorite buildings to live in. I lived here for about 5 years with no serious problems other than your occasional bug, which is normal for the city, but the staff was always very attentive and helpful. In my opinion, the apartment itself was modern and spacious. I definitely recommend it!”

“So i see a lot of people on here have not had a good experience at this building. Honestly speaking has anyone HAD a good experience here, we found a great apt here and are about to sign the lease. Not really excited to hear about this roach, mice problem. can anyone who lives there now a test to this? just wanted some feedback from some people who live there now. THanks”

“I currently live in the building, and come this August (when my lease is up) I will NOT be renewing. There are too many issues with this building. CONS: 1) The elevators are old and are constantly out of order. I've been stuck on the elevator on 2 different occassions (one of which was in the middle of the summer and it was maybe 150 degrees on the elevator). It's not only scary, but dangerous to get stuck on the elevator!! Guys, it's time for new elevators- well, not going to happen bec the building is too cheap. 2) Hallways are never clean. I'm not sure just how often they are vacumming the halls, but it's certainly not enough. It's borderline embarassing when I have guests come to the building and there is garbage all over the carpeting. 3) This is probably the largest of all problems- THE BUILDING HAS AN ISSUE WITH ROACHES, WATER BUGS, AND MICE. I have had issues with roaches and water bugs for my entire stay in this building. They have sprayed and sprayed but clearly the issue is out of control at this point- no exterminator can rid the building. I feel like they need to bomb the whole place. On my floor, I have seen mice running up and down the halls on numerous occassions. They are small mice, but they are still mice. GROSS. I've called 311 to complain, but the issues still persist. 4) The laundry facility is scary and gross. The laundry facility isn't even in the basement- it's in the SUB basement. It's an incredibly dark, grimey, and scary level of the building. As a female, I NEVER go down there alone. One of the doormen even told me not to go down there alone. If they can't change the location of the facility, they at least could overhaul the place- clean it up a little. PROS: 1)The doormen. Maybe not the most professional, but they are very friend. 2) The apts that face the back of the building (NOT 34th street) are very quiet. As the building is very old, the walls are extremely thick, and you rarely hear neighbors or street noise. All in all, there are so many buildings in the Murray Hill area, there is just no reason to live in this one. Spare yourself.”

“Let's just say that I've been in the building for 4 years and I've had to call the health department 3 times because the land lord couldn't care less when you contact him in regards to the roach problem in your apt. Trust me, you don't want to live here. Take it from myself and the other tenents that posted below- This place is pretty gross.”

“I lived in the Murray Park for 2 years. The first year I never saw a bug or rodent in my apart. My second year on the other hand, my apartment was invaided by roaches and mice. I never saw water bugs, but friends in the building apparently were battling those bugs. A woman on my floor also told me that she had a bed bug problem in her apartment that took her 7 months to get rid of. This building clearly has a problem with bugs and rodents. Honestly, I'm glad I got out of the building and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.”

“I'm not sure how these other tenants haven't seen any roaches because this building is infested. I've been in the building for 3 years (I'm currently trying to get out) and I've been fighting this problem since the 2nd week I moved into the building. My advice is to not take a the chance on this place.. there are plenty of other buildings that are bug free.”

“I've been living in the building for 2 years and just signed another 2 year contract. It figures that right after I signed the contact, I started to see roaches in the apt and waterbugs in the bathroom. They have sprayed with pestisides and patched up any possible holes in the apt, but it hasn't done a thing. I am completely grossed out, and have begun looking for a new place to live. I'm going to have to sublet this apt... DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS BUILDING”

“I really have no complaints about this building. I feel very safe, the doormen are extremely helpful and nice, and I have had no bugs or mice. And for a building that has been around for so long, the units (atleast mine) are very well maintained. My kitchen and bathroom were updated quite recently. Generally don't hear anything through the walls while in the apartment, but you can hear in the hall.”

“Honestly, I dont know why anyone wouldnt like it. No roaches, only one mouse in a year and a half. My neighbors are noisy, but I can only hear it in the halls or when someone drops a bowling ball, the doormen are nice and take care of you, as long as you are polite to them, dont EXPECT tips, but appreciate them...overall, you could do a LOT WORSE. Its not the Ritz. Basically, its what you can expect from a building built in the late 60's, tough as an ox, but has a few spots that need attention occasionally. The work crews are nice and polite, and try to fix the problem as best they can, sometimes it takes a few times, but sometimes you have to troubleshoot a problem, either way, they get to problems right away.”

It was rat infested and really noisy. <br>It was a shame given that it is in such a prime location.<br><br>The noise isn't really surprising given that it's on a busy thoroughfare (34 street) but the infestation could have been dealt with better.<br><br>The doormen and building staff only responded to you if you gave them substantial tips.”
