“Pros: My apartment had all the makings of what seemed like a great deal: proximity to subway stations, balcony, modern appliances, fairly new bathroom. The apartment LOOKS nice. Cons: The building management is truly heinous. The super might be able to fix things in your apartment in a timely manner, but if he can’t fix it, you’re left to screw around with the property manager. They’re slow to respond to repair requests, and any service requests you send through their portal is left unattended for weeks. In the middle of the August heat, my AC broke, and the building did not replace it for an entire week. I was sweltering in an 85 degree apartment the entire time. The building intercom didn’t work for the first several weeks I was living there. The stove has been broken since I’ve moved in, and they have still not repaired it. It’s been more than 3 months. Advice to landlord: Be responsive and actually try to fix things in a timely manner.”

“Pros: Decent apt, fairly clean no-frills building Cons: Slow response from management on anything, the super is decent on days he responds to messages”

“Pros: No noise in building Cons: Management never responds, hallways smell bad, so noisy outside, water pressure is bad and always leaks.”

“Unit 3B Pros: Management is quick to respond to issues sent to the repair inbox. Apartments are reasonably priced and building is kept in a fair state. Cons: Heat and hot water cut out randomly which is especially bad in the winter. It took a coup to get the heat to be released before 12pm most days but we did it. Dryers almost never work so be ready to hang your stuff around your apartment to dry. Advice to landlord: Why are the tenants rioting for basic necessities? You're doing well but you could be doing so much better”

“Unit 5C Pros: absolutely nothing lol. Cons: found a roach outside our door owners /management are unresponsive difficult to get repairs, requires multiple calls and waiting weeks heat is really erratic , sometimes incredibly hot and then super cold dirty stairs, never cleaned washer dryer would break and no one to tend to it tried to raise our rent by 50%”

“Pros: I love my apartment, super is very responsive, laundry in building Cons: Pipes are old and have leaked frequently, homeless/ drug addicts have gotten into the building, no notice if work is being done and they need access to my back yard, dryer breaks often Advice to landlord: Better communication with tenants on what is going on with the building.”
