“Pros: Great view rooftop Cons: Roaches mice smoke detectors”
— 848 HART STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Really like how central this is to places to go out at night with close subway access & lots of shops close by. Other tenants in the building are generally my age (mid 29s-30s) and cool creative types. Like the easy accessible shared rooftop to hang out on. And the rooms are leased individually in the apartment so you’re not on the hook for the rent of the whole place if the other rooms aren’t filled or someone moves out- then you just have an extra room until finding the best fit roommate to move into the available room(s) Cons: It’s NYC- there’s definitely rats about in the neighborhood. A lot of rooms have loft beds which i thought would be cool and would free up space but climbing up and down a ladder from my bed got old quick. There are rooms in other apartments that are not loft beds, luckily.”
— 848 HART STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Don’t rent here Cons: Google ‘Herman Epstein landlord’ this is the person you are renting from, not Isaac or whatever he says his name is”
— 848 HART STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Neighborhood is lively Cons: Rats, mice, cockroaches, bed bugs, carpet beetles, leaks in bathroom/kitchen ceiling, black mold, broken stove, faulty electricity, management ignores tenants about issues, landlord has illegally entered apartment multiple times Advice to landlord: Take care of your property that you charge people rent for”
