“Be aware that the doormen do not open the door for you. With the exception of Freddy, there hasn't been a doorman at the Post Toscana who I've seen even try to live up to the standards of an alleged full service building. And no, this is not a random rant - just check out the location of the front desk, it is behind a pillar and an inner door which obstruct the view to the front doors. They can't even see tenants trying to enter the building! I did see a doorman there once try to uncharacteristically open doors for people - it was when the leasing agents were showing an apartment to prospective tenants. I just kept thinking how disappointed the people would be if they made the mistake of moving into these overpriced apartments. The new Superintendent does very little more than the old one, and doesn't seem to comprehend tenant service. The Super seems unable to get his staff to keep the hallways clean or regularly clean out the recycling bins or trash rooms. And the biggest thing that ALL tenants notice, is that there is only ONE ELEVATOR at night (at prime hours) available because the staff is using the other service elevator - the wait for an elevator at 8pm can be as long as 15 minutes! And that's if the smaller elevator isn't broken. This is NOT a full-service doorman building, if you've ever lived in a real full-service doorman building...”

“PROS: I've lived in a couple of apartments in this building. I absolutely love it here. The building is kept beautiful all the time. The doormen are outstanding and know everyone by their first name. The staff consistently go above and beyond...epecially in maintenance. If you need a lightbulb changed, they'll typically be there in the same day and leave you a note saying what they did and to call them with any questions. The gym in small, but nice and rarely ever over crowded. The common room is small, but offers a nice place to relax and have a gathering if need be. The roofdeck is AMAZING. Great 360 views of Manhattan...it's a great place for a drink or for dinner - perfect date spot. Lastly, there's a washer/dryer in EVERY apartment!! CONS: EXPENSIVE! There's no doubt that Post is proud of their building. The rents here are absolutely rediculous - 1 bed/1 bath rent for north of $3800 - $4250 per month. The rents typically raise 10% each lease term. Unfortunately, I have to move because I can no longer afford to live here - even in this terrible economy, they are unwilling to help on the rental prices. If you can afford to live here, I HIGHLY recommend it! You won't find a better building or staff anywhere.”

“Except for the fact tha this building is pet friendly it leavs a lot to be desired in the amenities area. The rents are very hgih and there are practically no services. The building is poorly managed with few staff. If you are a future resident of this building be prepared to collect all your deliveries in the lobby, open two sets of heavy double doors even as you struggle with packages in your hands, have the use of only one of two elevators, one which is used as the service elevator for moving and garbage collection.”
