“Pros: The ROOF is a great place to relax, if you can use it. Everyday there is a note about a party. The have 60-100 people. Who come and trash the place and smoke and drink and get drunk. I called management and they send a vague note to residents and the same damn night there is a party. People give the door code out and I have a video of someone coming un our building and stole two packages. Its unsafe when you don't ever know what you walk out of your door into. Its a really nice apartment, but its unlivable due to all of this mess Cons: Everyday there is a note about a party. The have 60-100 people. Its a really nice apartment, but its unlivable due to all of this mess. There are so many empty units because as soon as they move in and realize what a crappy situation they have gotten themselves into they leave! Advice to landlord: A doorman! A super on site. So the residents can feel safe. TELL THE RESIDENTS UPON MOVING IN THAT THE ROOF IS NOT A PUBLIC PARTY VENUE. THEY HAVE PARTIES AND THEY GIVE OUR CCESS CODE TO THE OUTSIDE STRANGERS> THEY COME BACK AFTER AND STEAL FROM US.”
— 325 GATES AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Building is pet friendly and pretty clean. The rooftop is nice in the summer and the apartment itself is nice (just small). Cons: the building manager is horrible, you will never get a hold of him and maintenance issues take weeks, sometimes months to fix. ConEd bills are insane ($200-300/month for like 500 sq ft) and the heat does not even work. There are COLD drafts from the windows in the winter. Closets are also very small. Advice to landlord: Hire a new property Manager.”
— 325 GATES AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Has decent amenities Cons: Unresponsive landlord Loud bro-y neighbors Shoddy construction”
— 325 GATES AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Always clean. Good elevator. Good gym. Cons: Always got locked inside the package room. Tickets never got responded. Rent too high for the service we got. Package got lost in the lobby. Advice to landlord: DO BETTER”
— 325 GATES AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: 1. The overall layout of my apt. 2. The rooftop indoor / outdoor spaces 3. The package room 4. The keyless entry Cons: 1. As per our lease we’re supposed to have a doorman and we don’t. Whenever it’s brought up to the building manager he tells us the building will raise our rent if we ask for one. 2. The lock mechanism on the building doors (building front door, rooftop door, gym door) are constantly breaking. 3. The package room lock sensor doesn’t work properly and we get “locked” inside the package room often. 4. Ppl are stealing our packages from the lobby all the time. We’re all pretty sure the cameras in the building don’t work. Advice to landlord: Get us the door man we’ve been paying for and finish the work being done on the roof.”
— 325 GATES AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Roof top common area is incredible. Cons: Area is pretty rough. Walls are very thin.”
— 325 GATES AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: - new building - has rooftop and gym - has parking - some units have big patios Cons: - unfinished lobby - poor insulation between units - unfinished painting, hardware in “new” units - broken bathroom mirror and chipped tub in “new” unit - unprofessional management and maintenance - rowdy neighbors who throw parties on the communal roof or let their dogs piss up there - leaks in lobby and some units Overall do NOT recommend Advice to landlord: Hire a professional management company”
— 325 GATES AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Beautiful light and floor to ceiling windows, rooftop with gorgeous views and privacy, good location, solid construction Cons: Haphazard finishings in some places for a “luxury” building, extremely unresponsive building management if anything breaks (can take up to 7-8 weeks to get things fixed) Advice to landlord: Hire a more dedicated super who can address issues in a more timely fashion”
