BCC 205-207 EIGHTH AVE, LLC · avg 3.6 ★★★★★ · New York City
“Pros: extremely close to A/C/E/L lines, relatively little street noise heard Cons: garbage disposal located in the basement of the building was awful, little to no amenities, and the front entrance to the building was often occupied by unhoused people.”
— 207 8 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Building well maintained, newer appliances and kitchen, good responsiveness from management and super Cons: Large homeless population out front. Building doesn’t do much to mitigate. Had to call the cops a lot and at times felt unsafe”
— 207 8 AVENUE · Manhattan“Unit 5N Pros: Quiet on the 5th floor. Newly renovated unit was clean. Good water pressure. Trash in building. Cons: Poor super responsiveness”
— 207 8 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Super was easy to contact for maintenance issues. Cons: The roof had a leak that cause a hole to form in the ceiling and drip when it rained. This leak was directly above the door buzzer, which broke repeatedly due to water damage. Instead of making real repairs, they would replace the buzzer and paint over the leak (which obviously just came back with the next rainfall). The building also had scaffolding up for the entirety of my lease term and no end in sight for the removal of the scaffolding. The trash is in the basement and they definitely had a pest issue in that area. Advice to landlord: Make the necessary repairs to actually fix the problem, not cover it.”
— 205 8 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Location, ease of transportation, good restaurants, bodegas, and convenience stores Cons: large homeless population that sits on the steps, litters on the doors, and enters the building from time to time. Consistently an unsafe feeling living here and calling the police weekly.”
— 207 8 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Newer renovated apartment, hardwood floors, quiet, spacious living space, closets in both bedroom, exposed brick walls Cons: No elevator, street outside is dirty consistently, scaffolding from construction, no central air, fridge and kitchen are small Advice to landlord: Be more responsive and follow through on promised maintenance”
— 207 8 AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: -Great location -Nice interior of apartment Cons: -The building has a long-standing problem with bed bugs that has been reoccurring for years. My unit had bed bugs 3x in 2 years. The exterminator told me the building had huge long-standing issues with bed bugs. -Management is incredibly unresponsive. Issues from move in (such as missing window screens) were never fixed even after 5+ follow ups -Management is rigid and as unhelpful as possible. Ex: we wanted to sell out A/C units to the next tenants and were told we would be charged if we left the A/C units -Homeless people are always on stoop and pee in between 2 entrance doors Advice to landlord: Do what is needed to fully fix bed bug problem.”
