“Unit 18L Pros: I loved living here. The closet space was insane and I thought the apartments were well kept. The building staff are so kind and it’s in an amazing location. It is rent stabilized as well. Maintenance was amazing. Apartment is pretty quiet. I never heard my neighbors Cons: every year I lived there for three years there was new management. You could tell small differences but overall it was pretty similar. Management was ok to respond. They wouldn’t negotiate my rent price increase despite me losing a beautiful view from new high rises. They followed nyc rent stabilization committee with rent increases.”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Convenient location / feels safe, spacious unit, almost no noise between units. Staff has provided great and attentive service. Standard luxury amenities on offer. Cons: There is some sort of structural issue with plumbing that causes regular issues - seemingly once a month, large portions of the building don't have access to water for hours at a time due to some plumbing emergency. Interior design and quality of amenities feels dated relative to the luxury properties in the neighborhood.”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Convenient location and nice amenities Cons: Multiple management changes, but improvements were made with new ownership”
“Pros: Clean building where new management is trying to make changes Cons: Lots of construction happening on all sides”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: The lobby, package room and maintenance people are friendly and responsive. the gym and common area are popular and I believe it's because they keep those environments tidy and clean. The Livly app is very helpful. Cons: I wish the package room was open 7 days a week and longer hours. Some of the elevator overhead lights flicker so wish those minor details were addressed more. Advice to landlord: Longer package room hours please. It's closed on Sundays so packages just pile up and creates security/theft concerns.”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: I have no complaints honestly. Cons: Only con is surrounding construction but it’s not that bad”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Great staff, will go out of their way to help you and make sure you have everything you need! Amazing location, one block away from Dekalb ave and a couple blocks from Fort Greene Park. Cons: Construction noise from surrounding buildings. Nothing the building can control, but there is a lot of new development in the area”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Amazing location off flatbush next to many train stops Cons: Studio was small and heat was iffy”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: -Prompt maintenance -Clean building -Very friendly staff -Did not hear noise from other apartments -Great location (close to trains) -Spacious apartments Cons: -Management less than ideal, they take a long time to fix issues and are non-responsive -Lots of construction in the area so would frequently get woken up by jackhammer noises -There were some ropes hanging across the building for a while so we would hear very loud whipping noises”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit L Pros: Great location, doormen and mail room are great, apartments are updated and have huge windows. Very quick response for maintenance Cons: The amenities are not that nice & they make you pay compared to other luxury buildings. The management hardly responds at all Advice to landlord: Management responds & hosts events like free coffee or pizza or donuts for residents”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: - Clean and nice apartments - Nice gym and lounge area - Responsive management Cons: There was some construction noise when we lived there last year, but it should be wrapping up soon.”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 27k Pros: Clean, big windows, nice location, well organized. Cons: Construction noise, old laundry and dryers that make a lot of noise.”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: clean, good neighbors, quiet Cons: the management is owned by a major company that is not flexible or humanizing”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Clean, very nice door and mailroom staff, good location Cons: Nearby a hospital, constant construction in the area, every week we have the water shut off for a few hours or the elevator down or they are working on the facade of the building. New management has taken over within the last year and is not as responsive as old management. There is also constant construction on all sides of the building so it’s very noisy. Advice to landlord: Should have acted sooner when the building across the street was under demolition and illegally operating very early on weekend mornings. No one in the building was getting any sleep.”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Great location and views Cons: Construction near building Advice to landlord: None”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Nice looking new building, clean gym and lounge. Modern appliances, etc. Good floorplan layouts. Close to 2/3 & 4/5 and other subway lines into Manhattan quickly Cons: Doormen and staff were just ok. Location was pretty sketchy for a while in 2017.”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: convenient location, nice layout (lived in a 2 bedroom), floor to ceiling windows, new appliances Cons: construction in neighborhood”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Elevator, mail room Cons: A lot.of homeless in the area”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Great location, nice bathrooms and kitchen in units. Great sound installation between apartments. Good sized units (larger than most others in the area), gym and common area with plentiful windows and high ceilings, not many families in the building (right now at least), maintenance team/doormen/etc all fantastic and helpful. Pet friendly. Super is present, chill and responsive. Cons: Management company / officers not proactive in maintaining gym equipment and **preventing** pest problems. In-unit laundry machines not the best equipment/model. Mailroom has limited hours - Staff is not to blame for this - management company is. Chronic elevator issues. Advice to landlord: Get rid of Brookfield Properties and use a management company that actually knows how to **manage** a building.”
— 80 DEKALB AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Amenities, sound proofing, neighbors, package room w/ valet, friendly staff Cons: A bit too big and busty at times, rent way too high for its age Advice to landlord: Keep up the good work”
