“Unit 4G Pros: Landscape constantly kept up, close location to the subway, big rooms and space, good noise control Cons: No AC so needed window units, flights of stairs aren’t great with groceries, trash, and hauling laundry up and down (and then down the block). Took over 6 months to get our security deposit back”

“Pros: It’s a quiet building, with an adorable courtyard in the center. Overall it’s taken care of pretty well for a building as old as it is. Cons: You can’t contact an actual landlord, and the “building managers” never respond. When they do respond, they are rude and veryyy shady. Also the address on gps shows the building as around the corner so getting your mail/deliveries is always a hassle. The supers are also always watching you and hold different tenants to different standards. They also keep raising the rent significantly, even for the apartments that face the subway. Advice to landlord: Invest in treating your tenants with respect, and stop raising the rent for apartments that face the subway.”

“Pros: Very clean, amazing supers/maintenance staff, friendly neighbors, quiet, great layout and large space in 3 bed apt Cons: Nearly zero insulation and old windows which has meant it’s extremely cold in winter and we are fishing extremely hot in summer. Building score is a 2 out of 100 listed in the lobby. They rarely ran the heat in the winter and our poor older neighbors I have seen a second cockroach now and I’m on the top floor so that’s not ideal. Advice to landlord: Offer additional days for the pest control to spray. We’ve been out of town the last three weekends they came and are definitely seeing more bugs. Please turn the heat on more in the winter and consider replacing windows.”

“Pros: Clean building, Super was very responsive and nice, always came to fix any issues we had very quickly and fully. Had a very well maintained courtyard with lights during the holidays. Exterminator came regularly. Cons: No roof access- in fact there was an alarm system and can’t put ANYTHING on fire escape- they were very strict about that. I got my full security deposit back but it took quite awhile. Property Management is very difficult to get in touch with. They also kept raising the rent every year until we couldn’t afford it anymore.”
