“Pros: Incredible amenities, friendly, hardworking staff. Neighbors are friendly and diverse—a mix of ages and races, families and singles. Cons: No compost. If you forget to sign up for the monthly exterminator, the roaches are back pretty much immediately. Sometimes the elevator gets stuck between floors. Tap water tastes off sometimes.”

“Pros: Large apartments, some with dishwashers. Lots of closet space. Pool. Cons: Update to original review: I HAVE HAD BEDBUGS SIX TIMES SINCE MOVING INTO THIS BUILDING. They pop up in unusual places such as the KITCHEN and BATHROOM. They once fell onto my stove while cooking (this is how I discovered I had them). More recently I found one under my kitchen sink! It never seems to end with this building. Tenants in nearby apartments refuse to let the exterminator in to inspect for bedbugs. I've had bedbugs twice since moving in. Another apartment keeps getting bedbugs. An entire line of apartments has bedbugs. The laundry room has bedbugs and management has not treated the laundry room once. The pest company they use is absolutely incompetent and lazy. People don't even bother letting the exterminator into their apartments because he is rude, doesn't know what he is spraying, and the roaches seem to LIKE what he is spraying. Advice to landlord: Sell your building to us renters. We live here. We will actually take care of our homes better.”

“Pros: The building has large apartments with basic appliances - some units have dishwashers. There's a laundry room. There's a pool that is open sometimes. Management usually responds within a day or two to maintenance complaints that are cheap fixes - like a broken fixture etc. Don't expect it to be fixed correctly though. Cons: The pool entrance is closed so you need to walk to the other building attached to the pool and go through there. The building keeps getting re-infested by bedbugs, specific apartment lines, and the landlord does not abate the problem properly. Somehow the landlord got multiple bedbug complaints removed from the 311 website complaint history. I didn't know that was possible. The building has a serious roach problem. In the summer time the lobby, hallways, garbage room, and stairs are filled with large waterbugs that are on the floors and walls. I found a roach nest in my kitchen even though I clean regularly and have my unit treated for bugs. The landlord sends a cheap exterminator that doesn't actually exterminate bugs. When I complained about the nest I found RIGHT UNDER MY KITCHEN TABLE I was told it was my fault. All the windows are broken/drafty. The heat sucks unless you complain endlessly and they get tired of paying fines for having the heat off. The appliances provided don't work right, even the new ones. They buy the cheapest shit. Many tenants have opted to use their own fridges. I have my own refrigerator and if I am feeling like splurging, I might buy my own stove because the one I have is very cheap and I'm worried about inhaling gas. Another note, red flag for bad management: They didn't change the toilet seat between tenants. Gross! Also, the toilets are all original and require high pressure (which the building water pressure is really BAD) to get the water to touch all parts of the inside of the bowl... since the water doesn't flush around every inch of the bowl the toilet gets smelly and dirty very quickly, requiring cleaning every few days. Neighbors have complained about the same thing. Advice to landlord: Not sure if Revona properties is a shell company to cover up that the Trumps are still the owners/managers of Argyle Hall or if Revona is just a slumlord not related to the Trumps (they seem to manage all of Fred Trump's old buildings) but just get out of the business already and let these buildings go co-op. We'd do a better job maintaining where we live.”

“Pros: Used to be value for huge apartments with laundry in basement, dishwashers, A/C. Great location, friendly people and maintenance staff, even has an outdoor pool in the summer. Cons: Has had bedbugs in multiple apartments for past year. The treatment people it sends aren't getting the job done. Landlords blame the tenants; it's obvious the bugs are in the walls and they need to take much more serious measures building-wide or at least floor-wide for the affected floors. Also has a bad roach problem in the halls and on the ground floor. Lastly, they've jacked up rents this year. Advice to landlord: Look for a bedbug exterminator to more aggressively and seriously treat the whole building. Compensate tenants who've been subjected to this issue and needed to replace entire bedroom furniture. Don't jack up rents as much as you've been doing; a $400 increase for 1BRs from last year to this year is too much. You're pricing out good people, especially egregious given the pest problems.”

“Pros: Common area has a wall of windows which means fantastic natural light. Decent layout. The lobby attendants sign and lock away packages. Cons: Everything else. Paper thin walls means we hear the upstairs neighbors walking, the next door neighbors talking, and the downstairs neighbor playing their TV. The heating unit hisses loudly and since it’s controlled by the building, we can’t ever turn it off even if it gets too hot. People smoke in the stairwells even with signs posted everywhere. Advice to landlord: Do right by your tenants. Telling them “wall to wall carpeting” is the solution for poor insulation is insane. Yes, it’ll cost you money but do some much needed renovations inside this building.”
