“Pros: Great for the price and in a wonderful neighborhood. The best super! Cons: Pest problem can't be escaped, even with multiple exterminator treatments”
— 150 HAWTHORNE STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: generous apartment layout, amazing super, great neighbors, quiet, wired for fios, laundry in building Cons: sadly, roaches. it varies by apartment, but mine has a severe infestation I can never get rid of. like, severe. with every type of cockroach. they even come up my bathtub and kitchen sinks packages have 50/50 shot in getting stolen like many new york apartments, the heating system demands your windows to be open in the winter / put the AC on, otherwise it's way too hot (and you can't control it) Advice to landlord: fumigate the entire building to solve the coach problem”
— 150 HAWTHORNE STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Apt is in a great location, Laundry and Elevator but often needs maintenance Cons: This building is a co-op & unless you're dealing with a truthfully responsive unit owner, it's going to be miserable. The management over this building (Morris Rokowsky/Solomon Rokowsky) are incredibly unprofessional, and if it ever comes to dealing with them be careful. Money-hounding management, only looking for their next cent. Really check out who you're working with before you take the plunge! Advice to landlord: Offer your tenants basic decency”
— 150 HAWTHORNE STREET · Brooklyn“Unit 6H Pros: Small boutique building Live-in Super Laundry Room Cons: Mouse problem Cockroach problem Leaky bathroom ceiling Took forever to get someone to fix any issue with the apartment. Package thefts Advice to landlord: Take better care of the property and the apartments.”
— 150 HAWTHORNE STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Has doorman at night. Spacious. Great light from outside. Quiet street. Neighbors are very nice Cons: BUGS(lots of them). Thin walls. People can be loud sometimes maybe it’s because of the thin walls though. Advice to landlord: Have pest control come in way more frequently.”
— 150 HAWTHORNE STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: secure lobby, friendly neighbors, the superintendent is very kind and attentive Cons: Living on the first floor there is lots of noise, you can hear people talking outside your window as late as 3am. It’s an old building with a major roach problem. Advice to landlord: Every unit on the first floor probably needs to be properly fumigated in order for the issue to be resolved”
— 150 HAWTHORNE STREET · Brooklyn“Pros: Most neighbors are very friendly Parking garage Elevator Many closets Big bright windows Laundry machines use an app Cons: So.many.roaches. and if you don’t run downstairs as soon as your packages arrive there’s a 50/50 chance you will actually get it. Advice to landlord: Get a package cage or a camera buzzer system. And get the exterminator in here on a regular basis. Also, you should let the tenants know when there are going to be repair people on the roof. We’ve had break-ins and it’s super stressful to see someone outside my window and not know whether they are supposed to be there or not!”
