“Pros: in-unit w/d is nice Cons: entire building has roaches. seemingly in a huge number of units, and in the hallways. horrible to get home from work and walk by roaches on the stairs, and then get jumpscared by a roach in the living room or on the counter. units are kept unacceptably cold during the winter”

“Pros: new finishings (marble) and nice bathroom Cons: - pests (cockroaches) - the units are TINY here, extremely low ceilings probably 30%+ lower than those of the units in the buildings neighboring - unresponsive management -- did not respond to our requests to move in / out - greedy management -- deducted 1k+ in cleaning/spackling fees when we paid for professional move-out cleaning and all holes were repaired - terrible ventilation. summer was almost unbearable with extremely weak AC unit, cooking anything in the kitchen will lead to your entire unit smelling and heating up”

“Pros: Location, W/D in unit, recently renovated, bright bedroom. Cons: Poor quality renovation (nails coming out of floor, dishwasher never cleaned properly, washer/dryer was unreliable), dark living area due to lack of windows, small/lacked storage space, cooling and heat was insufficient, mice/bugs, poor/unresponsive management and super. Advice to landlord: Stop exploiting tenants with steep rent increases and bring in new management, a responsible super, and an honest broker.”

“Unit PHC Pros: Elevator building in the shadow of the flatiron building, location location location Cons: Old and outdated, dirty entrance and no shoddy vestibule Advice to landlord: Don’t be so predatory with your rent hikes”

“Pros: Quiet street, responsive landlord, pretty clean. Cons: Very loud radiators, poor water pressure, laundry machines very old and not always operable. Advice to landlord: replace laundry machines.”
