914 AND 916 PROSPECT PARK LLC · avg 2.8 ★★★★★ · New York City
“Pros: It’s a beautiful building with original features on a historical street. Down the street from Brower Park, which is nice. Cons: Management does the bare minimum for their tenants. If you’re looking for a building where the landlord proactively fixes things or cares about living conditions, this is not the place to live. When we moved in, the place obviously hadn't been cleaned or looked after for a long time. And ever since then, there's been a lot of issues that management is very slow to clean. Sinks backing up sewage, mold everywhere, pipes bursting and causing water damage. Then it takes days and even weeks sometimes for them to fix it. The water damage in our kitchen (which we have asked them to clean several times) recently grew a mushroom over our kitchen sink. It's extremely frustrating, especially considering the price of rent. My advice to you... don't live here. Advice to landlord: Genuine question: would let you family members live in this building? My assumption would be no, but just reflect upon that question.”
— 914 PROSPECT PLACE · Brooklyn“Pros: Affordable, big space, lots of character Cons: Water pressure in the bathroom is bad. Could use an update in the kitchen. Advice to landlord: No advice really”
— 914 PROSPECT PLACE · Brooklyn“Pros: - great location - high ceilings - responsive super - beautiful apartment details Cons: - dated appliances - some fixtures are falling apart - spotted mice while I was living there Advice to landlord: Clean your apartments.”
— 916 PROSPECT PLACE · Brooklyn“Pros: Large units with exposed brick in a great neighborhood Cons: Upkeep and maintenance are a joke, the landlords use paper records that aren’t accurately maintained (accused us of being late on rent multiple times when we were not). My unit was never cleaned before I moved in and we had multiple issues with leaks, mice and more during the time I lived there. Years of built up grime all over the apartment. Repairs are poorly done and don’t address the root causes of issues. Landlords are just trying to get as much money out of you as possible and don’t put any back into the building. Kept a portion of our security deposit for unpainted walls when there was visible spackle and holes everywhere when we moved in. Unable to get in touch with the landlords or the super in emergencies, phones were only answered between 9am and 1pm on weekdays and they “don’t do” emails. No notifications when the super was out of town... the list goes on and on. Advice to landlord: Actually take care of your buildings and treat your tenants with respect and care.”
