“Pros: Management is easy, clean for the most part. Had a mouse once but they quickly filled the hole. Cons: Super not always super responsive but for the most part no huge cons”
— 230 EAST 27 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: - Responsive Management and Super - Nice neighborhood and location - Really nice sunlight Cons: - Above trash, lots of roaches coming out of sink - Sometimes the hot water would go away for a few hours but nothing crazy”
— 230 EAST 27 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The super is a very nice person . The apartment itself has a ton of charm with brick walls/ building has tile floors. The kitchen is fully updated with stainless steel appliances and the heat is very strong. The maintenance is responsive, but doesn’t always fix issues all the way due to their budget constraints Cons: Mold in the bathroom, issues with doors, rest of the units have pests, shower doesn’t always have hot water Advice to landlord: Appreciate your super and treat complaints more importantly”
— 230 EAST 27 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 19 Pros: building was well maintained and for the most part responsive about any issues we had. Cons: the garbage area was a bit gross and had rats every now and then. we had a few pest issues but nothing too cray. Advice to landlord: add lights to the garbage area and keep it better maintained.”
— 230 EAST 27 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: exposed brick, natural light, dishwasher, responsive super, updated appliances Cons: pests, weird heat situation, shower issues”
— 230 EAST 27 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Renovated kitchen appliances Cons: Infested with mice and roaches, trash is never cleared causing fire safety hazards, lots of rats running around outside, multiple break ins to basement unit”
— 230 EAST 27 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Cheap Gross Lou Cons: Mice Cockroaches People sell drugs on the stoop”
— 230 EAST 27 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 1 Pros: Affordable rent, central location, close to target, Trader Joe’s and whole foods Cons: Whole building is infested with mice and roaches, drug dealers constantly on stoop, radiators make the apartment extremely hot and turn on randomly”
— 230 EAST 27 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 21 Pros: Clean, well taken care of, upgraded Cons: Terrible management. Black mold issue for months, never taken care of. We have emailed for months, called for months, and nothing was ever done until 4 months of nonstop calling and emailing. They had no problem sending us emails when rent was due or a couple days late. Absolutely terrible. When they did “fix” the mold, it was the cheapest slap job ever and didn’t fix the issue Advice to landlord: Take your tenants health seriously!!!!”
— 230 EAST 27 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: No pros of living here Cons: Bad neighborhood, rats, mice, cockroaches, no heat during two months of winter, bad management, bad trash management”
— 230 EAST 27 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: all amenities work fine, good location Cons: Lots of cockroach sightings, very loud neighbors, unresponsive super/landlord, no sunlight Advice to landlord: If you don’t like bugs, beware and don’t expect much from the management.”
— 230 EAST 27 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Good location, building management is responsive although the super isn’t. Cons: It takes forever for any work to get done. Lots of bugs. Advice to landlord: Get a new super.”
— 230 EAST 27 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Normal heating and water, duplex with lots of space (but don’t let that fool you) Cons: Unresponsive landlord. I haven’t seen the Super in months. He literally runs away when you try to talk to him in person. Cockroach infested. They’ve been crawling through holes in the wall and cupboards we’ve been begging to get fixed for months to no avail. We found some crawling over the kitchen counter too. There was no hot water twice this winter, lots of college kids throwing loud parties till 3-4 am despite several noise complaints. Just stay away from this house Advice to landlord: You should be ashamed of yourselves. No advice because you are a lost cause.”
— 230 EAST 27 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Good location and some neighbors are nice Cons: The management company is terrible to work with. We have had sinks that have been leaking for nearly three years with no repairs- even after repeated requests. Rent is entirely overpriced given how outdated, damaged and broken most things are including- doors, fridge, floors peeling etc. Downstairs neighbors throw parties until 5 am on random weeknights. Mail constantly gets stolen and door is left unlocked which causes complete strangers to stop inside on the steps. Advice to landlord: All around be better, and at least do the bare minimum for your tenants.”
