“Unit 2B Pros: great super, very responsive Quiet Nice location Not any pests that I ever saw Nice outdoor backyard for everyone Cons: Garbage in the basement can build up and really smell in the summer Areas of the building are somewhat dirty, especially basement Laundry is quite expensive Backyard common area can get very loud if there are visitors”
— 725 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Management, cleanliness, updates Cons: Location, noise, can’t control heat”
— 725 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 3D Pros: Extremely responsive and personable super and management office contact; quick to respond to any problems; well-maintained building where super and management company care about tenants treating common hallways well Cons: Most family-style apartments being converted into 3BR without living room, driving up rents”
— 725 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Mike the super is the best. Super nice. Management is always quick to respond. Building is always clean. Thick walls so you cant hear neighbors. Cons: It gets really hot but units have big windows that can open to let cold air in”
— 725 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: great management, clean, affordable for area, close to M14D bus Cons: really hot in the winter”
— 725 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The Super (Mike) is incredible, knows everyone in the building and always says Hi. One of the biggest pros. Outdoor space is nice, as well as a small but functional gym. It has a surprising amount of space for East Village, and maintenance is pretty responsive. Cons: The brokers working for the building are not great, and try to get into people’s apartment to show them even when yours isn’t up for rent. They keep the heat very high from late fall through spring so it gets very warm as the weather turns (and honestly even in the dead of winter). There is laundry in the building which is great, but the price is frankly ridiculous and you have to get cash to do it.”
— 725 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Great location for a great price Cons: Primarily college students and interns there in the summer, results in loud neighbors Advice to landlord: Bring the heat down”
— 725 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: love the super and the location. nice building Cons: Only real complaint were the occasionally bad disposal methods and the emails from management. Otherwise nice”
— 725 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 4D Pros: Very helpful and responsive super. Elevator and intercoms in apartments are great. Cons: The heat is ALWAYS going when it isn't summer and makes the apartment super warm. Have to sleep with the A/C on every night. People aren't respectful with their trash and completely overfill the bins. Also, packages get left outside the mailroom in the lobby very often. The laundry isn't the best - barely fits a full load and if you do have a full load, you need to split into two dryers or else it will take forever for your clothes to dry. Advice to landlord: Go easy on the heat. I'm sweating in my apartment.”
— 725 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Great super, responsive management. Cons: Big yearly rent increases.”
— 725 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The super Mike is great, does a good job with the upkeep. Good area if you walk a block over, lots to do in the area, apartment would stay warm and a nice patio area Cons: Management company has been a horror show, packages stolen before a mailroom was put in, laundry room was terrible and “gym” was subpar”
— 725 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Clean building, great super, dog friendly, back patio Cons: Not a con — but it’s It’s definitely a youthful spot so wouldn’t necessarily be a great spot for families or young kids.”
— 725 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 3B Pros: I like the walkability to Tompkins Park and East River walking path, dog friendly, all the people in the building are friendly, very quiet/thick walls, Mike the super is really great, overall no issues. Cons: A little far from the subway and electric heat could make it a little too hot in winter.”
— 725 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Dishwasher, Nice super, generally well kept (all super’s work). The area is good. Cons: Terrible management. Tried to raise rent exorbitantly during pandemic. My bedroom was definitely created through an illegal wall. Space was tiny. Advice to landlord: Don’t raise rent during a pandemic and stop charging premium for tiny apartments.”
— 725 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Big apartments, little gym was nice to have Cons: Kinda a party scene, packages constantly stolen”
