630 EAST 9TH STREET REALTY LLC · avg 2.7 ★★★★★ · New York City
“Pros: Good location in the East Village. Cons: Lived there for one year, we had mice all year long we couldn't get rid of even with constant exterminator visits. The unit also had so many spiders and drain flies, also saw several roaches. My bedroom window and the living room window were completely covered with vines growing up the building from the garden so I had no light coming into my room. Our unit would flood the unit below when we showered. The heat stopped working for a whole weekend in the winter when it was around 10 degrees. Packages constantly were stolen. After all of this they tried to raise our rent 30% at the end of the year.”
— 630 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: East village area fun if you’re young. Walk up. When I lived there was reasonably priced. Cons: Just don’t live here. The halls reek, the live in super sits outside smoking all day with the other village creatures. Had cockroaches the whole time. The laundry is disgusting. Weird neighbors. Advice to landlord: Clean ur act up”
— 630 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Unit BE Pros: Appliances are nice? Cons: Cockroaches everywhere. I mean everywhere. Rats in the laundry machines. If you complain, immediate threat of eviction. Super walked into my apartment without permission. Everything is easy to break into. Pipes broke the other week, and they exploded into our showers. Complaints led to blame on other tenants. Super smokes in the hallways - if you complain, immediate eviction threat. Our door wouldn’t lock for the first month+ when we moved in and when I called 311 - eviction threat. Advice to landlord: Get a management company so you don’t get sued. And stop being awful to your tenants.”
— 630 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: relatively updated, clean Cons: pest issues, far from public transit Advice to landlord: improve pest management”
— 630 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Next to a garden, laundry in building. Cons: We had a leak that never got fixed just covered up everytime it was an issue. The street can get loud given the neighborhood. Super became unresponsive. Lots of packages get stolen. The 2nd door didn’t have a lock for a long time and the buzzer system is so flawed it’s a joke. Oh and laundry was broken for so long we ended up at a laundromat for a couple months Advice to landlord: Clean the place! Fix things timely.”
— 630 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 3 Pros: The super was friendly and the apartment came clean and well taken care of. Never had issues with neighbors and it was pretty quiet, more by virtue of location than anything else. Cons: Took a really long time to sort a bug issue, was quite frustrating as tenants. Advice to landlord: When tenants tell you a problem is serious, take them at their word!”
— 630 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Relatively clean and orderly; well run laundry and garbage Cons: Stolen packages are a problem Advice to landlord: Crack down on package thieves or have a package room”
— 630 EAST 9 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Good location lol Cons: everything in the building is extremely old, units are less than 300 square feet and $3k+ Advice to landlord: Lower your rent!!!”
