“Unit 302 Pros: Sunlight , that’s about it . Cons: I move in and there’s hundreds of cockroaches, in the fridge, dishwasher , everywhere! Also the neighbor across from me has a like 4 dogs that constantly barks 24/7 which disturbs my peace and I can’t get no sleep. Management hasn’t done anything about it Also the elevators are always broken and they were broken for a whole month! Rent is 3800 dollars while there are people in the building that are NOT PAYING THAT MUCH AND ARE MOST LIKLY ON SECTION 8 Advice to landlord: Stop renting to bums , because I feel like I live in the projects”
— 594 BUSHWICK AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Close to the train and food Cons: - roaches - black mold - faulty door knobs - no closets - uneven flooring - broken oven - faulty fire alarm”
— 594 BUSHWICK AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Nice area and close proximity to train. Cons: Where do I start. Pests, Black Mold, faulty door knob, broken floors, attitude from leasing office, no closets, faulty fire alarm the list goes on.. Advice to landlord: Hold your self accountable.”
— 594 BUSHWICK AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Decent location near train, maintenance is decent at responding Cons: Overpriced for what it is, elevator is always broken”
— 594 BUSHWICK AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Apartment is sunny and nice Cons: Elevator is consistently broken, over three years it’s broken down almost constantly. We have requested pest control multiple times for the presence of roaches in the building but they have never come. Our neighbor across the hall had a break in and found someone sleeping in their bed. There have been homeless people sleeping in the hallway and stairwells. Electric bills are also insane due to cheap construction. I’ve had bills that exceed $500 for a two bedroom. Rent has increased by $1,000 per month over a three year period Advice to landlord: Take better care of your buildings”
— 594 BUSHWICK AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 604 Pros: Close to the train. Cons: This building has a massive Roach problem. It is also really dirty. Packages are regularly stolen. The Elevators are regularly broken, though there are two; both have been out regularly. Management/Repairs is difficult to contact and coordinate repairs. Advice to landlord: Clean the building, make it more secure and take care of your roach problem.”
— 594 BUSHWICK AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 312 Pros: Location to the subway, GoLocker and bike room for no extra cost, cleaning service in public areas on weekday evenings Cons: Lack of management accountability and responsiveness Packages get stolen A polished turd is still a turd Advice to landlord: Sell the property and get into a different business”
— 594 BUSHWICK AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: The building cleaning team does a great job, location is near the j/m/z and not that far from the L Cons: Laundry always broken, elevators always broken, non-responsive management, 13% rent increases. Advice to landlord: Ditch your broken app, fix the elevators and laundry”
— 594 BUSHWICK AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: convenience of train Cons: the property management company is downright horrible. they do not care about you and will NOT address any issues you have. the turnover rate is extremely high for this reason. your energy bill will be in the $500s due to the poor insulation in the building. Advice to landlord: get a new job”
— 594 BUSHWICK AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Conveniently located by mass transit. Front door is sandwiched between a daycare and a 24hr bougie deli. Cons: Very poorly constructed. I’m honestly surprised such a POS got green lit. “F” energy efficiency rating. Horribly drafty doors and windows (doesn’t just make a candle flicker, blows it right out!). Heavy street noise and sirens all the time. No screens on the windows. Building by is barely 3 years old and already falling apart, literally. Just tour the parking lot. Had to have every single door in the place fixed at some point. Everything is electric, and poorly insulated, so we got a $900 electricity bill when coned tripled rates last winter. Seriously infested with cockroaches. Walls are paper thin. Front door is buggy. No doorman or live-in super. The random repair men aren’t always equipped to fix problems and scheduling them is a huge pain with multiple middlemen from the apathetic building managers. Took 3months to fix the lock on our front door. Packages frequently stolen. No storage or amenities in the building to justify the enormous prices. Got sent lease renewals with 15% and 9% rent hikes. They’re delusional with what they think this place is worth. Advice to landlord: Fix the drafts and insulation, and hire a doorman and super!”
— 594 BUSHWICK AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 501 Pros: The building was close to the J/M at Myrtle B’way and not too far from the L Cons: It was that well maintained. The walls were pretty thin and the area wasn’t great. Advice to landlord: Try making the building nicer”
— 594 BUSHWICK AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: the rooms are spacious and there is a parking garage with zipcar and free GoLocker Cons: there is NO security! package thefts 24/7 in the lobby, break-ins (!!!!), random people sleeping and peeing in the stairwells, roof top parties by people who don't live here. management refuses to hire a doorman neighbors can be friendly at times BUT most are obnoxious. loud fights within apts that you can hear from outside of the building (im not exaggerating), fights in the hallways, music blasting at crazy hours, trash left in the hallways, dog poo and pee in the elevator and stairwells. the walls are paper thin the building was slapped together quickly. theres no insulation so the electric bill in the winter is around $500-700 per month. the windows don't shut properly so we lose warmed and cooled air easily the water is also brown most of the time. there's also mold in the garage Advice to landlord: get a door man!!!!!! the building is unsafe to live in”
— 594 BUSHWICK AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: good ac, nice water pressure, decent views Cons: management is non-responsive, packages are always stolen, neighbors are LOUD, elevators are broken and rarely fixed (one was broken for 4 months alone), fire alarms are super easy to set off Advice to landlord: be more engaged with the property”
— 594 BUSHWICK AVENUE · Brooklyn“Unit 501 Pros: I moved in when it was a brand new building Cons: The compactor rooms were always dirty Advice to landlord: Regulate the trash so there are no pests”
— 594 BUSHWICK AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Decent rent, around the corner from the train station, and new shops opening up monthly. Cons: Domestic disputes all hours of day and night, broken elevator for 4+ months, fly infestation, and there is no super.”
— 594 BUSHWICK AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Could be a nice building if owners cared. Cons: Completely neglected. Common areas are a filthy mess and the building is not secure. Constant package theft and unauthorized people coming and going. Advice to landlord: Take some responsibility!”
