“Unit 3e Pros: quiet, decent neighbors Cons: dingy, no laundry”
— 521 WEST 156 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 5A Pros: It’s cheap and a decently renovated unit. Cons: The roof began leaking and I had severe water damage. Floor tiles were broken. There were constant bugs (bees, wasps, etc) inside the apartment. The woman downstairs from me constantly called 311 claiming I was making noise when I wasn’t even home or when I was sleeping. Advice to landlord: Maintain your building.”

— 521 WEST 156 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: The building has a lot of renters that have been there for a long time. They aren’t much of a bother. The porter cleans the entry often and the super is very responsive Cons: Lots of roaches. The heating of the water is dangerous as it randomly turns hot and can potentially burn you or children. The management does not fix major issues and will hide from tenants. Advice to landlord: HELP YOUR TENANTS”
— 521 WEST 156 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Garbage has actual cans that are emptied regularly. My unit is nicely renovated. Neighbors are mostly friendly. Good water pressure. Heat works decently well. Pay rent online. Repairs happen within a couple days. No issues with pests. Cons: Front door lock and buzzer are flaky. Heat pipes noisy sometimes, though they did improve it. Super is tricky to get in touch with, so just schedule repairs over email instead. Windows are a bit funky. Lots of street noise, if that bothers you. Advice to landlord: Fix the front door.”

Cons: Management company is very slow and difficult to get in touch wih. Front door buzzer is often broken. Packages stolen on multiple occasions. (Alleged) drug dealers reside in building and let their customers in. Dogs pee in foyer. Advice to landlord: Get on top of things, please. Previous management company was. better.”
— 521 WEST 156 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: I could not find any . Cons: The neighborhood just terrible, people are selling drugs on both corners of the street, loud music from outside almost 24/7. Rent is overpriced with such a poor management. Always trash situation by the building and super wasn’t able to fix anything. It was a terrible year living there . Advice to landlord: Do it right.”
