“Pros: Loved the location Cons: Bathroom ceiling collapsed, landlord refused to send anyone to repair it. Also the building has bed bugs.”

“Pros: The walk to the train was short, and the neighborhood was cute with lots of restaurants and cafes. Cons: Owned by a textbook slumlord. Bedbugs. Mold. Constantly needed repairs. Constant violations. No hot water for over a month. Plaster falling off the walls. Countertops made of chip board and contact paper. Roaches in the hall. Stoop covered in bird poop constantly. Avoid at all costs, don’t make the mistakes I made. Advice to landlord: Sell your buildings to someone who is actually willing to do any level of maintenance and retire to Florida.”

“Pros: Location is convenient and neighbors are friendly. Cons: Bed bugs in many apartments, unresponsive building management, theft of security deposit. Half of our security deposit was taken with no explanation or any proof of damages. We had bed bugs three times and multiple other units had them severely. Elcorno Martin hung up on us multiple times when we called to address apartment issues and walked out of his office, slamming the door behind him when I confronted him about proof of damages for the half of our security deposit he did not return. Advice to landlord: Treat your tenants with decency.”
