“Pros: The unit is small and lacks a living room, but location is wonderful and we haven't had problems with pests (just the odd roach), so we've been happy. Cons: The building's cleanliness could be improved, and the lobby and stairs are dusty and the walls are crumbling up the staircase.”

“Unit 3e Pros: Gorgeous, spacious, sun soaked, functional, home. Perfect location - quiet enough, central enough, and the neighborhood has everything you can possibly need - the best food around, reliable doctors/pharmacies, abundant grocery stores, the river & park, tons of public transit. We’ve been here for a few years and this home has grown with us. The apt is massive! Cons: Management is generally incompetent and sketchy at times, and will only respond if they absolutely need to. But we’ve never had trouble getting ahold of someone when it absolutely mattered. The occasional cockroach, but nothing out of the realms of ordinary for NY. This building is OLD, but it’s charming and the few maintenance issues we’ve had have been taken care of. Supers come and go every year or two but they all have been lovely and relatively responsive. If you are okay with the above as trade offs for a relatively affordable, massive, centrally located space, this place is absolutely perfect. Advice to landlord: Respond to tenants”

“Pros: Location is ok Cons: Mice, cockroaches, asshole/entitled super that refuses to do his job, loud radiators… the list goes on and on. Please don’t live here unless you’re desperate. The building has tons of violations and you will hate your life living here”

“Pros: The biggest pros about this apartment were the location, relatively affordable rent, and the opportunity for 2 year leases. Specifically this location was great for me when I was going to school in Washington Heights while living with my boyfriend who worked in Downtown Brooklyn. This place afforded us both a 40ish min commute. Cons: The amount of cockroaches was unfathomable and right before we ended our lease we even started seeing mice. The super was a dick and rarely answered his phone. He gave me a hard time when my bathroom's ceiling caved in from a broken pipe upstairs. He tried to blame it on the upstairs tenants but I spoke with them and their pipe genuinely burst! My super tried to claim the neighbors had left their tub overflowing... so odd. Advice to landlord: Be more responsive to emergency situations! I sincerely hope the roaches have found a new home as well.”

“Pros: the building was cozy, neighborhood is nice Cons: the building itself had very unresponsive management, they also raised the rent like crazy, making it totally not worth it for the 1BR i was in”

“Unit 1B Pros: not much to like about the building Cons: radiators are loud (ive never heard radiators THIS loud, but management “cant do anything about it” and will tell you that it used to be much worse and nobody had complained before LOL which i don’t believe one bit of. speaking of radiators- my radiator was leaking and the management ignored all my emails and never got back to me about it. neighbors steal packages and play loud music at 3am. there are neighbors that let dogs straight-up pee in the hallway and on the top of the entryway. there’s loose concrete pouring out from behind the walls in my apartment onto the floor, and the floor boards are old. shoddy maintenance done throughout the property, they do have monthly pest control come to your door but i see roaches and bugs all the time (if ur not home when pest control visits, you’re not getting serviced til next month). a lot of loud foot traffic, the windows don’t close properly but management won’t do anything about them. oh, and theres always so much trash in the sidewalk (today there was clumped cat litter in FRONT of the open trash can outside) right by the apartment and on top of the mailboxes”

“Pros: Location, and that’s about it Cons: Not kept up well, mean super Advice to landlord: Please take care of this building. The ynits need major updates as well as the whole building honestly. No fire extinguishers”
