Pros: The new owner fixed up the place without raising rent a crazy amount, was pretty responsive Cons: Took a long time for maintenance requests, but that was with the old owner, new owner still wasnt always immediate but much better Advice to landlord: Good job keeping the rent raises fair as you improve the building, please keep it up

Pros: The location is the only pro of this building, and it's a big one. Incredibly convenient location. Cons: Management is terrible. Not responsive to numerous issues. They don't take care of the building at all, hardly even have a super. Worst trash piles in the entire neighborhood, never sweep or vacuum. The place smells of mold. So many water leaks and general issues that they never fix. Terrible place, horrible owners who are trying to sell. Advice to landlord: Stop being slumlords.

Pros: Building location is great and the unit is fine enough but nothing special. Laundry in unit is also a plus! Cons: Was sued for $18k by the building owner for “not paying rent” for 6 months when I had been paying the whole time. Had to spend $350 on legal fees. Management company is horribly unorganized and unresponsive. They truly don’t give a shit about their tenants. Advice to landlord: HIRE A BETTER MANAGEMENT COMPANY

Pros: Location is great, minutes walk from most subway lines and right near plenty of restaurants and bars. Cons: Management is incredibly unresponsive through all modes of communication. They didn’t even hand us the full set of keys when we moved in. We had to contact the previous resident to get them. If that previous resident hadn’t been accommodating or worse yet if they ever wanted to enter the unit without our permission, they very well had the means to. At one point we lost heat and water and didn’t get it back for weeks. Ended up getting black mold in one of the rooms as a result of shoddy maintenance work to fix a burst pipe. Never got our full security deposit back because management claimed we left furniture out on the sidewalk. We did not. There were several units also moving out in the same weekend. There’s no air conditioning and the layout makes it impossible to cool the whole apartment evenly so summers can be unbearable. Packages get stolen all the time. They are often left on the porch where passerby’s can easily grab them and walk away. Advice to landlord: Stop treating residents like disposable sources of revenue and start treating them like actual people
