“The Good: Central Air, Central Heat (aka you control your own heat in the Winter). They say that the heat is free but I'm still not convinced after living here for a few years. The Maintenance staff are very nice, attentive and fix things reasonably fast. The Bad: Dealing with the Management Office is absolutely atrocious. It blows me away at how ignorant and ------ that they are. I think that they also run several section 8 buildings as well and are used to dealing with people of that Ilk, hence the bullet proof windows in the office.. I have never in my life went to a Apartment Management office and had to talk people through a bullet glass. The Apartments are nice, but are on the small side. The One bedrooms are really Junior 4's aka a studio with a bedroom. The two bedrooms are more like a large 1bedroom cut into two, thus making a small two bedroom. Overall. I think the place is OK..about 3stars..Newer buildings, 2 mins to the train (but you never hear the train...I like that they are strict with the application process so that they dont just let any old person in. Don't have to deal with the Dominicans and Puerto Ricans blasting their music to the max or the Beeping of Horns or the Yelling of Neighbors to come down from the window. Unfortunately, I lived near a group of Haitians that I think that they sell food or operate a restaurant..But they literally stew chitterlings on a daily basis and the entire floor reeks of the distinctive smell of pig and cow intestines. There was a bug problem but we spayed and put down Diatomaceous Earth and haven't seen them since.”

“In response to the people that wrote below - GET A LIFE!! If the building has mice, its because dirty people bought them in. I have been in this building from the beginning and never had a mouse or a roach! Second of all, YOU DONT PAY FOR HEAT!! Yes, I agree the Management Company Receptionists are rude and ------, but your in NEW YORK!!! Who isn't rude and ------??? (Michelle from Management is the only exception- I would recommend if you need to contact Management, only speak to Michelle because she is a really nice and helpful person.) Parking Lot is convenient, but too overpriced. The reason: It's a privately owned company so they rent the space and charge whatever they want to. Bottom line: For the price of the one and two bedrooms, its not a bad building. The building is new, the walls are not too thin and the staff fix things when you ask them too. The building is maintained clean and laundry room is open 24 hours a day for our convenience. The neighbors are really nice and although there are one or two bad seeds in the bunch, all in all I have no complaints. I have been here for 7 years and I challenge anyone to look for a 2 Bedroom in A NICE NEIGHBORHOOD, for under $1300???”

“All I can say to sum this building and its company up is one ---- PLACE TO LIVE, DO NOT RENT FROM THEM, take your hard earned money else where. Let not even start with the building across the street that covered what ever view I was suposed to have paid for”

“I moved into Putnam Gardens AKA Putnam Deegan, when it first opened (almost 3 years ago)the apt was too small for the price at the time of $925.00, ------ neighbors fighting and when they werent fighting the walls so thin you could hear neighbors getting thier grove on at all hours of the night...Kids runing up and down on the elevators as if it were a race, building has NO SUPER, and keeps the building contractor as someone to take care of you but is only interested in what you can do for him...security camera has wires installed but no camera and i am sure (i move a year ago) there is no camera installed...not efficent with repairs, my kitchen sink leaked (suposedly brand new) and my ceiling was falling apart (only after 6 months living in this "new" building...My window cracked and i was told it was the building setting in...my apt was so small it was often confused with a studio, very small for the price you are paying, bathrooms are overly large and bedrooms very small...neighborhood is nice and close to train station, area not well lit at night, oh and try to move to low floor, i was told that rent increased as the floors got higher so the person below me although they had the same exact apartment paid almost 100 bucks less than me and the person below her the same and so on and so forth...My suggestion, its not whats on the outside but whats on the inside that counts and this building is CRAP”
