“Pros: Neighbors are super nice, neighborhood is fantastic Cons: At first it felt great, but then.....the laundry room flooded and was covered in mold. I reported it and they did nothing for months. Turns out there was also a mold in the apartment, and management did nothing to fix it even after professional tests. I got sicker than I've ever been and had to move out, and they kept my security deposit even after re-renting the apt and didn't return an extra month's rent to me that I'd accidentally overpaid. I had to get rid of my couch, my bed, chairs, and all my pillows and blankets and sheets and buy new ones. Landlord yelled at me on the phone threatening to sue me.”
— 37 LEXINGTON AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: -Only one apartment per floor, so you never really have to deal with neighbor noise -Good value for money in the area. Central air, dishwasher, SS appliances, and lots of space at this price. -Overall responsive management. They'll reply to you within the week to fix things. Cons: -The new super is kind of incompetent. Means well, but not very efficient or good at fixing unit issues. -The front door hasn't been fixed, so can often just be pushed open. The virtual doorman system doesn't always work. So obviously, lots of package theft. Advice to landlord: Please fix the front door!”
— 37 LEXINGTON AVENUE · Brooklyn“Pros: Good windows and light. Central AC/heat. Dishwasher. Safe and quiet street. Never saw any bugs or mice. New laundry machines in the basement as of 2021. Feels newish and clean on the inside. Minimal rent increases. Cons: The digital doorman never really worked. Minor cosmetic stuff was never fixed. Getting other things fixed was a bit of a hassle and would never get fully resolved. The front of the building can pile up with trash. Basement will flood occasionally during a bad storm. Neighbors can be noisy sometimes. Advice to landlord: Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and hire professionals to make repairs. Keep the stairway to the basement and the front of the building clean and clear of trash.”
